Acceleration Punch, Throttle response

I wasn’t able to find what I’m looking for in the noob thread or existing topics. Here are my current settings.

FOCBOX UNITY
12s3p 40T
Dual 6374 190kv
90mm wheels / 45T & 15T

80A each motor
-70A brake

Battery 40A
-12A

Acceleration Curve - Exponential +95%
De -20%

Positive Ramping time 0.25
Negative Ramping time -0.40

My question is, is there a way to make the board more “punchy” off the line like evolve boards instead of the gradual increase?? I had positive ramping at 0.1 but there seems to be an issue where if I just slightly throttle it’ll just ramp up for a second even after letting go of the throttle, which is a huge dangerous no no. I’m only looking for that initial kick, if that makes sense. Perhaps increasing the acceleration curve from 95% to 99% or 100%? Or is there any other settings in the remote section that I can mess around with? I’m using a VX1 remote thank you

Hmmm

Battery 40a is pretty low tbh

I have mine set to 50 each side on my unity for my mountain board and the acceleration is nuts. Like you’d fall off if you didn’t have bindings

5.1 gear ratio with 8 inch pneumatics. From what I’m reading on your board it should be pretty strong acceleration

In my experience, unless you’re geared for super high torque, vesc is unable to provide that punch at the start like evolves do.

Suits me fine. I throw my back out every fucking time i step on one of those fuckin things

I feel like this very feature is a problem on the haedon. The throttle is super jerky and you can’t smoothly start from a standstill. The second you touch the throttle it jerks you forward and then the acceleration dies off.

Pump up the motor amps 10 A and just make sure your motor cans aren’t getting too hot to touch with your hand and you’ll be good.

Battery amps affect high speed breaking and accel

Motor amps affect low speed breaking and accel

I also have my positive ramping time at 0.1s

Up the battery amps to 60-90A
And battery min -25 to -40

I would actually lower the motor min and maybe even the motor max. Just to get it smoother.

Keep track of the heat if everything (Battery, motors & ESC) is nice and cool you can push It even further.

I think this is not what he wants.

Omg, your curve is so aggressive that your remote does literally nothing from 50% to 100%

Your settings are pretty high though, I don’t even know what to suggest to you except for going 4WD

Could part of that be down to the fact the evolve has been using BLDC on all boards up to now?

Um…cool…?

as well as the fact that they’re using proprietary hardware and can do whatever they want. even sensored BLDC on vesc based controllers would never punch like 3rd gen evolves. of course they usually top out at like 18mph…

The back breaker VESC settings.
Guaranteed to sweep your board from under your feet, or your money back.
