A123 LiFePO4 Cells - the iron man’s battery

I’ve got a lot of A123 and the last of the k2 3800mah cells (assuming u don’t want to spend a fortune on eBay).

Definitely will work, and u will have way more cycles, a nice consistent discharge voltage, won’t blow up ur house, and save money.

I foresee using these in cars. Smaller batt, using supercharge charging, at convenient stations. Get you around town, and, with infrastructure, travel.

Question if u pls…. I am planning on using lifepo batteries for my summerboard. I believe it runs at 12s regularly. I’ve stripped the vesc out and replaced with a foxbox unity.
I know based off voltage u can get away with 13s li-ion (ish) as long as u don’t bomb a hill on full charge. What could i run on LiFePO?

12S or 14S LiFePO4

Thx , my next question is …
With the A123 battery there doesn’t appear to be a negative around the positive terminal. In fact the positive and negative almost look like they’re back to front. Is there a positive next to the neg terminal or vice versa . I can’t seem to find anything with a multimeter.
I’m asking as do A123 batteries need insulator rings?

That’s the negative terminal in your photo, they are reversed. Did you check with a multimeter?

Negative 1st photo positive 2nd yup. I was just commenting that they look reversed .

They are reversed. I don’t personally know of any reason they wouldn’t also benefit from insulator rings.
