6396 vs. 80100 motors

Agreed, but it doesn’t come without tradeoffs. Also, shielded bearings on a sealed motor is a bit :man_facepalming:

Could always replace with 2rs equivalent and that’s the end of that. But ya, @tipsy observed the same thing. @Static is selling 3 at a great price. Just about to pull the trigger, but was vetoed by my better half. Buying a palette 2 instead. Getting octoprint setup.

What’s the trade-off?

It’s a bit of motor volume/length that doesn’t contribute to the zoom zoom. and another wear item/failure point.

I can speak to the tb 6380s- I come in well over 300 lbs and I have no problems with them.

I feel like full sending a 2wd board with these would rip the bottom half of my body off

Do you really wanna play?

Ya, neu’s got some big ol boys.

That short/squat 6560 that is being tested out on some lacroix boards does like 7k watts.

I’m not sure I could hold the screwdriver steady enough while riding though. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Guys are making me feel bad for my choice of 80100. I figured they would be the most torquey I could throw on a board reasonably. I want those ankle breaking forces! Ah i’ll settle for them now they’re already in the mail.

Four wheel drive with even a tiny 6355 will probably do that.

more motors > big motors

(imho)

Of course I am a big fan of huge motor single drives but that’s mostly for reliability and practicality reasons and not performance reasons.

6355 is not that “tiny”

It is in big boy world

Not speaking from experience obviously lol

I ordered from Lacroix and they are the same as maytech 6396

The Lacroix motors and controller are amazing…love the power, never overheat…thought they might fit on trampa helical drive…they do. 2mm gap is heaps :upside_down_face:

Maytech drive shafts are larger than trampa motors so helical gear bore had to be enlarged…use ‘reamer’ drill.
Mount pattern on motor face if also diff for Lacroix version of the maytech so had to mod alloy mount with new stud pattern.
