For those in the US right now some of you might have noticed that shipping rates r very expensive right now to ship anything internationally. This becomes an issue when ur main source of good quality motors comes from CHINA. Anyways I digress, but apparently u can buy flipsky 6374 motors for $150 on Banggood (shipping was $3 which was very surprising) and it actually ships fairly quickly. I ordered them on Tuesday and they are out for delivery at the moment. Will update when I get the motors.
UPDATE So I got the motors on Sunday. yes they are the old non battle hardened version of the motors. Is this a big deal: Yes and No. Its important to have battle hardened motors that way the motor can can survive a drop, but at the same it only costs $10-20 dollars to battle harden the motor $10 if u already have the c pliers to open up the cans and $20 if u need the c pliers and expoxy. There are a variety of ways to battle harden the motors and I’m going to battle harden it the with the 2 parts clay epoxy method.
Anyways if anybody is in need of 6374 motor just buy them off banggood. US shipping via FEDEX took 2 days. It was really fast shipping surprisingly and the shipping was very cheap. I got the motor for $150 which a lot cheaper than international shipping via dhl/fedex for flipsky.
prolly, but shipping rates rn r stupid high. and battle hardening costs $20 about, still cheaper than than the $100 usd shipping. I’ll update on battle hardening l8r when i get them.
TBH if you need motors in the US you can take a chance with TorqueBoards (seems to be hit or miss lately) or @Boardnamics since he’s got 3 different flavors of KV and all battle hardened just a shorter shaft than most motors (by design for his gear drive).
Yeah, but the shorter motor shaft can be an issue, and so can ur pulleys and hangers not fitting w/ the larger motors. International shipping at the moment is also insane. I’m just very surprised the pricing is what it is and even if I still need to battle harden the motors. It is still far cheaper than ordering from Aliexpress flipsky or from flipsky directly.
I have not found it to be a problem on anything except for a strange Trampa mount I have never heard of before and that is because it had a support bearing integrated in. Even mounted to an 8mm thick plate, there is enough room to a hold a 18mm wide pulley.
The price of these motors went up a ton in the past few months, just the way it is. In fact I may have to bump mine up to $120 each (free US shipping)
I got those exact same motors you linked, battle hardened them myself and theyre running great now for me. They also have the newer battle hardened versions on there for like 10 bucks more
