40" Drop Deck TB40

Oh you just reminded me I finally have the top plates, AND Epoxy…

Time to get a’ gluin

Wanna send yours my way? add it to the stack

Oh I also wanted to throw a weave of fiberglass under the metal plate that I glue into place. The fiberglass would fill this empty space more.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I am working with eBoosted to get one of his beautiful deck + enclosure combos.

I need to sell my 12S4P 21700 since I am moving to Finland soon. I’ll see if a pack buyer wants this deck. If not, I’d be happy to send it your way.

Any advice for repair?

Planning on roughing up the top surface and bottom of metal plate and doing the top plate with the fiberglass layer first

I might try taping off the hole/bottom in order to prevent the resin running out.

I guess I could put 6 bolts into it so it holds the fiberglass in place and do the bottom side first then it soaks into that layer under the top plate.

Anyone have any bad experiences with the v1 TB40 deck? As much as we don’t like TB anymore, it’s a cheap deck/enclosure and I wanna build something small to replace my other street build which is mostly dead at this point.

Appears dead flat. :face_vomiting:

I thought he was just fully not shipping orders though? Like I know $80 is good but not it you don’t get a deck

Coming from a vanguard, I’m fine with that

I ordered the $10 trampa pulleys from him and got em quickly. If he doesn’t ship, I just charge back, no big deal.

Someone posted that they have been getting their shit quickly. Crap shoot.

I ordered a set and received it quickly, and in good condition. More spacious on the inside compared to my Hummie. Flat and very stiff.

No longer $80 same price as the v2 now

Don’t get the v1. Cracks very easily around the baseplate area, couldn’t trust that deck. V2 is a lot better, more reinforced.

Zoom in on the baseplate area. That was after like 5 rides

Oh no! That totally sucks! 5 rides? That’s ridiculous.!Thanks for the heads up. Any technique/way to reinforce that area to avoid the cracking? I’m a total noob when it comes to deck integrity.

I have the Gen 1 deck, but going to use reinforcing blocks in the baseplate area. I’ll add photos if I can find them.

Here we go:

Good idea Bill. Btw, I just checked the torqueboards site and under the “longboard decks” section it shows the V2 deck + enclosure in stock for the same price as the V1.

That’s a smokin’ deal if it actually arrives.

This is a super stiff deck. 0 flex, just FYI. And I’ve heard of them cracking around the truck mounting holes.

How are those blocks added to the baseplate area going to make it stronger though? It looks like the same forces on the wood.

I’ll update my build thread (been lazy lol) when I get home but here is a sneak peek:

This pic actually is a bit outdated at this point, motors are now swapped for flipskys and just this weekend I finally added the metr that I got from @Evwan and got my puck working. Also working on adding adding one of @tomiboi’s bindings for the front foot but just trying to nail down the placement.
