Do you have moon drives though?

I have them but not the bike seat mount version. I was about to ask which mounting method you chose but now I see. I like your design but would eventually change it so the light bracket is on the gear case and not floating at all. Lots of vibrations coming from there.

I made it closer on the second version, printing a pair now that i will likely use for the next days. I also got longer m2 screws and nylock nuts (god damn expensive little things) to push them all the way through.

On the third version i will try to copy the curve of the drive or just put some foam tape in there, adjust the position of the screw holes and try to find out what screw is being used for the bar mount type

Btw, don’t want it too close because it will end up rattling against the case. Need to find a middle ground

I was thinking about designing something like this. I think you should use more than one screw to hold it to the moon drive tho. I feel like it would the mount would either snap or pivot loose after a while.

I made it 5mm thick at every point, it’s not going anywhere unless the screw gets loose. Right now i need the correct screws to arrive and i’ll start abusing them. I expect the screws to snap or lights to give up from vibrations before this dies.
Pla (decent quality, i think pla+, won’t snap for anything) and 100% infill

Upload is awful slow for some reason. Can’t even put 1 pic

I will send the stl or solid part if anyone wants to try it out like it is. Modify radius of small holes to 1mm for self tapping or leave at 1.1mm for bolt & nut

Can you show me a pic of the xlite mount you have to attach it with?

Holes are exactly 14mm apart.
When i get more time i’ll center the holes, make the end round and add a “cup” to hug the lid tight without abusing the screws.

Ohh you just drilled through the existing cap or did it come with the holes already?

The mount mine came with is a weird t shaped thing

lol I got one with a the t shaped pattern and one with no cap at all.

There’s a really nice riser for the t version. Fits like a glove in the cutout of a hummie deck.

Nope, came with these things

Btw

If the fillet and dimensions are right i’ll make it deeper on 4’th iteration

@Athrx any chance you could make a xlite mount that would fit the hole in the matrix II metal baseplates?

I would need someone to donate an old/broken/not needed anymore baseplate to design after. As a baseline i say if i can slide a printed triangle from the inside and lock it in place it can be done.
Or from the outside but attach 2 clips on the inside sides to compress with nuts & bolts

Dont have any spare baseplates, but Creavenger made a step file for the MBS matrix II here if that helps

this is interesting! I will design one I even have a spare that I am not using.

Hey now, I made the baseplate, @Creavenger made the truck annnnnnnd then Joel of mbs gave us the full file

I’d check and make sure that’s the right file.
