3D Printing Discussions, Questions and Debugging

Very nice. I’ve found that nylon prints great, but you run into layer adhesion problems unless you keep it slow, below say 45mm/s or so absolute max. Also, avoid cooling if at all possible - Makes overhangs more difficult, but it really helps with strength.

Yeah on the bgm extruders I switched to cutting it off and extruding the rest through instead of pulling it out. Have 3 x bgms now. Bought a 4th but Amazon refunded me and said they failed to deliver it which was new to me. Thinking of trying it the one @agentdev linked.

@Z3RO I like your prints man. We’re huge nintendo fans in our house.

Who else has used Repetier? This is the Raspberry Pi 7” touchscreen with a Pi3 running Repetier-Server.

why is the first layer much faster than the rest even though all speeds are set to 25mm/s??

additional infos: my speeds are all over the place. I’ve reset them but now more are different despite the same speed.

also what i can’t get to work is fan speed. Fan speed is set at 100% but the printer only puts it at the value of 85 resulting in the fan beeping not spinning. I manually have to set it to 255 for it to work.

Plus: i still can’t find the GCODE to keep the nozzle temp at a certain set temp AFTER the print is finished. I want it to cool down just a little after being finished.

Anyone in NA that has nylon or can print steel to print this for me https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3950231
DM me a cost/price quote, I tried tpu but broke immediately.

Try turning off the acceleration and jerk control.

I “charged” it with a UV light and now it’s glows like kryptonite for a few minutes.

Beautiful

Probably one of my biggest prints.

Judging by this photo alone, it looks like all your settings are 25mm/s except the skirt/brim, which is 10mm/s. 10mm/s is blue, 25mm/s is green. Looks correct to me.

Taulman alloy 910 0.5kg at $30. The cheapest you’ll get. Get some.

Looks correct on the photo but the other layers were like the image above.

I somewhat fixed it. I’ve set every speed to 1mm/s, and slowly began setting each value to 25mm/s one after another. Previously speed 25mm/s was blue but now it’s green. Need to check again later though how the colors are.

Do you have a minimum layer time set? With small parts like that, if you have a minimum layer time set, you may be running into it.

New headphones so I printed a stand for then.

If you were trying to decide between a Ender 5 Plus or a CR-10S Pro V2, which would you pick, or what else would you be cross-shopping?

I printed an enclosure out of nylon and used glue for better adhesion. There is still some stuck to the print. How should i get rid of it? Can i use water or is that bad for the nylon.

Just wash it with water. Moisture only causes issues before printing or injection moulding, not after…

ok thanks

I would also look at the Artillery Sidewinder X1. I hear good things about it, but you gotta remember with the Creality printers you also get a massive community with it.

I noticed 2 issues on my latest print. Technically it’s the same print twice but flipped.
Here the left wall is tilted to the left

this side is also shifted + it has a fat layer (present on both separate prints.) It looks like if flow was adjusted to 200% on just that part.

Ignore the part floating on the left side, top photo. I took the print off while it was still warm.
