3D Printing Discussions, Questions and Debugging

Thanks! I’m curious what’s yours looks like. I literally just stick with the basics. Heat, speed, and retraction between filaments. PLA is something I can print super easily with no problems at all.

My printer prints nylon, petg, abs, tpu, pla, cf polycarbonate, ect… They all turn out good after I screw with those settings after a test print or two. Mihht be lucky. Might have a gift. Doesn’t matter. I love this stuff.

Is it for side walls as well? or just for infill. The slicer reduces walls speed by default, unless you alter it manually.

Outer wall is slower at 80% of that (I’m not doing math right now haha). But yeah. The rest is 70mm/sec.

Sorry. Thought that would work. Gyphy makes it look slower than it really is I think.

Your cube does look pretty good. You using a CR-10?

Below on the left is 0.12 layer height and on the right 0.2 layer height. Wall speed is 50 mm/s. All other settings are the same in both cubes. When I print a cube with no letters, it can do the top without any issue. Once there are letters, the top is under-extruded.

Thanks @mishrasubhransu, my prints look about 10x better because of you. Just a few more minor tweaks and I will be even more happy with it.

Ender 3. I’m a poor guy.

What extruder are you using @Z408 and you @SeanHacker

I think it is a clone volcano hotend. Just put a micro Swiss nozzle.

BMG clone. Triangle Labs.

So you are not using a BGM or BGM extruder? I never had consistent extrusion, at high speeds, before I got BGM clone.

Here’s what’s mine looks like at 50mm/sec walls and 100mm/sec infill. 1.6mm layer height, 0.48 line width

I’m going to try this. 90mm/sec is about as fast as I’ve tried. Maybe I’ll bump it to 110mm/sec for penis size…

That looks great. I will look in to this BGM extruder. What kind of printer do you have?

@SeanHacker, the ender 3 is a very impressive printer. Two of my buddies have them. I think we are all poor due to this esk8 hobby.

I have an ender 3 too.

Please do. It will elliviate a lot of issues.

This is the one I got because I’m an impatient little bitch and need things in two days always. It’s a little slower these days because covids. But it was worth it.

Are you using a v6 hotend or the stock one with a bit of ptfe tube?

Micro swiss.

Still a bit of ptfe though? Which drive system you using again?

Yep. Just a tiny piece at the top of the hot end. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4062242

I have 1 microswiss and 2 stock hot ends, all with bmg extruders.

I can’t decide if I want to try his new v6 compatible hydra system out on one or both machines. Still a work in progress.
