3d printed Enclosed chain drive DEV

I’m sick of my belts snapping so I bought #25 chains and sprocket. Knowing that chains are quite sensitive to debris I’m working on a enclosed chain drive, I’m planning on making it from CF motor mount and 3d print everything else.

Here’s a video of the fusion drawing.

I’m open to all suggestions because I have no idea what I’m doing and would like some advice.

Btw I’m making it for the matrix pro clones that flipsky sells.

If the motor mount is aluminum then it will probably transfer heat from the stator to the hanger more effectively.

I’m telling you people to make copper motor spacers with built in water-cooling… How hard is it to make my bad ideas for me…

That’s a fair point, my no.1 priority is to make it dirt cheap. CNC aluminum is quite expensive compared to CF here.

Might as well water cool the ESC too, with side pod radiator like F1😏

If CF is the way to go due to cost efficiency, than as minimum make a metal cover for the down facing area.

While I like the idea of an enclosed chain drive, I can say that I did not have had issues in 4 years using chains in different sizes.

IIRC the other Momentum Boards made a fully sealed chain drive once. It was essentially a gear drive case but had chain and sprocket in place of the gears.
