30 mph cut outs HALP

Do you have an ERPM limit set? With certain settings, when you hit the ERPM limit the vesc will engage brakes.

Yeah so when I ate it and went over to the sidewalk to check metr I noticed metr said it was no longer connected to my bluetooth but the data was still recording? Is that normal? Seemed strange, I just hit the connect to bluetooth and then it gave me the green “connected” again.

The short cut-out happened once again after this but was less significant. That event’s harder to locate on my trip but I’ll try to find it. I do

I do have it set to prefer GPS. Is that bad?

I’m not sure if I have an ERPM limit set. How do I check that?

I’m going to check my connections and swap out for a metr pro I have and rerun motor and input setup wizards.

Did it feel like being kicked sideways, or being thrown forwards?

oo, that’s hard to tell but I wanna say bucked sideways more

do you have older logs you can review to see if you have exceeded (31)A in the past?? looks like the board cut out when it hit 88 mph (31)A. i had a similar situation a few weeks ago where a 4.1 ESC cut out when it hit (41)A and it shook me like a bad habit. i was running ackmaniac.

33A and 34A are the highest it looks like. Most are roughly between 28A-31A

no. that’s a preference. it just explains why the speed metric kept updating, when the others appear to not.

I have an ongoing and irritating issue similar to this. I can ride for an hour at various throttle pulls with nothing, and then out of the blue, my left side motor will hiccup or brake for a second, and give me a shove sideways, usually at mid-throttle speeds. However, I had it happen at full boat last week, and that was a near stack. Standard Ack for me as well.

Hmm yeah that’s super weird, felt like just one side (back right motor) to me too! Sucks too because the rest of the set-up on this board gives for real smooth and solid sailing at 30-40 mph =( But I’m pretty fucking scared now to go anywhere near that speed.

Reran motor and input wizards and didn’t experience any cutouts today–pushed it to 37A

Maybe it’s time to go back to Ack 2.54?

I used that on my TB 4.12s and it was reliable as fuk (3 years ago, so… Maybe?)

not a bad idea!

And stop changing remotes without remapping ppm lol…

You’re just asking for it at that point

Fuckin happened again today, right at the end of my ride:

Was full throttle uphill at 28mph, 95% duty cycle–felt the little blip but luckily wasn’t fast enough for me not to recover. Can anyone make any sense of this?

29.5v? What’s your S count? That’s LVC territory at 10s

it’s a 12s4p TB battery. Maybe put 300 mi on it or so. It sags at 50% pretty hard and I was at about 25% battery at this point

12s at 29.5v? oh no man, that’s 2.45 per cell. I set hard cutoff on my packs at 2.9v and soft cut starts at 3.2v (that translates to 34.8 final and 38.4v start) and most people would say I’m pushing it. Once my packs are under 3.6v I stop punching full throttle because too much sag and I don’t want to trigger a cut…

ahh, so I’m triggering LVC? Is that what LVC does, just cuts out when you get voltage too low? Thanks for helping me trouble shoot–what do you think I should do? Is the battery fudge?

What’s your setup? Does the battery have a discharge bms or bypass? and what battery settings are you running on vesc?
