Gotta finish them now lol… The main ingredient to building quality parts esk8 or otherwise is patience… If you believe in a product or its inventor… Then wait. Also Check out my Ig www.instagram.com/greigesk8

Those boards are going to be sweet! We’ve talked on ig before :stuck_out_tongue: After riding the race wheels again they feel very very similar to the pnuematics, I almost couldn’t feel the difference except for when I went over a huge bump

Definitely going to get a set of pneumatics as well!

Mannn you are going to love that! Try and get the same spur gear so you don’t have to reloctite everything when you swap wheels!

BTW, I ended up tracking down a skateboard design that does have a somewhat similar design as the 3 link.

Though it, uhhh, is also pretty different as well.
Not entirely sure what they were going for.

But reading through a bit it seems they came up with the linkage system as a way to introduce a raising center of gravity.

Physically similar, but with an entirely different purpose in mind.

Also I don’t think this would ride well.

my gawd that’s unique… I’m not sure it’s 3-links… but to be honest I’m not sure what it is…

d00d… you have to be the king-of-obscure truck knowledge… thanks for posting…

It’s a bit more obvious in the other figure. Interesting find!

Same with bicycles. 90% of the time someone comes up with something new there’ll be a 100 year old patent showing its been done before. Nothing wrong with this, there’s a lot to be learned from old ideas.

Looks like a caster that uses the fulcrum off the pivot ball to self center when weight is applied to the deck. This guy probably put the cart before the horse and went for a patent before the working model.
Yikes! Cool find and Darwin award contestant.

I’m interested in Brad’s 3link setup, was very interesting! @RipTideSports

@RipTideSports 3link rode nice. Interesting bushing set-up and lots of steering adjustment. He should post-up some pics. It’s a nice functional 3link.

Yep! It was a weird feeling riding his, hard to describe them!

This one made me think of the streetcarver. Similar but different.

The BMW carver was surprisingly bad to ride

For sure this was made before a working model.

I don’t think it would be a death ride though. The patent says “Inherently stable riding platform”, And I do think it would at least be that. But in this case that would translate into “Inherently very awkward to turn”.

What I think is most interesting is the vernacular being used. He was not using terminology skaters today would recognize. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was hardly any knowledge or experience of skating at all contributing to this.

Which in a way almost makes it more impressive.

Hey! Stop bashing the streetcarver without bushings and show that sexy 3 link setup you have!

I am reluctant to do so at this point. It took me a long time to arrive at where I am at with these and if @MoeStooge can patent the 3-link, we can possibly add some of the features of a bushing guy’s (me) interpretation of the design to further broaden what the patent covers.

All this talk about patents .

Isn’t there core of esk8 open?

I still want to see what these feel like. Anyone in Bay area California got a working board with them?
