Im going to be updating post #2 with concrete info
Starting Batch 2 as of 02/04/2020
Changes from Batch 1
Major Changes

SR Clamps now hold a large support bearing
10t,11t,12t,14t pinions all have a keyway
Support bearings on all clamps

Small Changes
Wheel adaptor is 1.5mm thicker
Case is slightly thicker to accommodate standard socket cap screws
Made it so hardware for the drive is cheaper and easier to find:
m2.5 bolts for the lid have been changed to m3
Standar…
Pushed the button on the second batch of drives.
Please PM me if you have any interest in purchasing
Info in this post is now outdated. Keeping everything a lot of things the same for simplicity
OUTDATED INFO, REFER TO THE FIRST POST.
So looking at a second batch now but will make a few test units before I sell to everyone because I am going to make a few changes:
Mountain Boards are popular…
Making the drive wider and slightly bigger to accommodate MTB setups (bigger tyres and motors). You will now be able to run these ratios… Mainly done because by looking at the spreadsheet most are riding MTBs and want taller ratios.
Gearing
50/9T
5.5
50/10T
5.0
50/11T
4.55
50/12T
4…
TLDR
Keeping the same gearing ratios, form factor and truck compatibility (ignore the ideas of a bigger drive tailored to mountainboarding)
Small changes to the case to keep hardware easier to purchase
Select few will be testing helical gears (ratio 5:1), if goes well it will be available as:
A drop-in upgrade to existing gears will cost about £110
A standalone full helical drive which will cost about £320

If you need more testers for the helical, whenever my 6369’s from the group buy show up I’d be happy to put them on my trampa DIY with MBS trucks. Else wise I’ll be buying a set when they’re ready for sale

@moon
Oh crap. I didn’t know you were looking for testers for helicals
I already have a build ready to go
My colab is running on belts but wouldn’t mind converting to gear drive

The helicals require 8mm motor shafts unfortunately

Do you have any ETA for this arrived in UK or shipped in France if ordered around this week ? I mean, are we talking in days, weeks or months ?
I for sure want one of your GD for an eMTB (MBS trucks) but don’t have any experience yet with MTB so I hesitate between straight and helical (it’s not about money)
Really? i thought you needed to specify that to @moon and he could get it done?

Got my testers now, only needed a handful to keep things manageable. @CiscoV
About 6 weeks
If you really hate the noise of straights go helical. But straights are so straight forward and not that loud
True
9T straight and 8T helical are too small for a 10mm bore + keyway.
