I guess my plan is to see if ennoid can tailor his mk8 VESC to have more muscle to it, through potentially a more robust tolt mosfet from Infineon.
I gotta see what they have to offer in their catalog
Maybe there will be more than just a mosfet swap to enable more peak current headroom / constant power output.
Ive noticed this awhile back and actually have been trying to figure out get rid of that.
is there some sort of latency setting thats possible to change?
this delay forces you to kind gamble if you are really pushing it, l notice it most when I let off at the very last second coming into a turn but it takes attention away from hitting the turn with my most graceful effort more than id like. I know sounds like a skill issue but like its a little nerve racking when it stays in the power band longer than you anticipate it. it leaving you to guesstimate when it sort of powers down or tapers off most concerns me when chasing other people down.
obviously Ive adjusted my riding style to Accommodate it but I Dont really notice the same thing on my other vesc boards which gives me hope as far as locating the setting causing it.
Sounds like negative throttle ramping setting is too high. One piece of advice though, tweak that fairly carefully as even small adjustments can make a huge difference to how it feels. I tweak mine in steps of 0.05 sec.
Finally had time to handle drilling and retaping the Vesc mounting holes that were stripped.
They are now m4.
I didn’t take any pictures while I was working because I was forced to keep focus on what I was doing.
I eyeballed it & didn’t take the Vescs out of the enclosure which I kinda hate that I didn’t drill all the way through. I just wanted to get it over with, onto more things for this board that I’ve been wanting to do for awhile.
Another fancy cooling mosfet style like the metal top Infineon ones is the Onsemi dual-cool that cool through the top well and drain/source pads, I think they also fit the toll package like D100S and Ubox.
Other options are
Jetfleet F6, 20S 260A, I think more battery amps than Lfoccer and potential for upgrade.
Spintend 85v 240A, I’m pretty sure 240A is battery amps, there is a slightly tweaked 100v variation that specifically does 250A battery 400A phase which is believable having very similar fets to the 2 previous ones but twice as many and an aluminium pcb for cooling. Also it’s just $169!
