Yet another hoverboard to onewheel project

That’s not a problem because they are at equal potential. Also why the strip from the center folded part is to connect to 2 points on the bms. The biggest issue is protecting the “shoulder” of the positive cells when folding as that has the potential to short.

I didn’t show it but you need to put some fish paper right over the cells that sticks out here to protect it. All the reas can be in firm contact without issues

Okay, i’ll go ahead and take it apart and add more fish paper in, but that doesn’t explain it got to 46v right?

Did you connect the nickel to both spots here?

Yep, i did, let me take it apart and take a photo

Ya that doesn’t make much sense unless you somehow connected the 4 cells you moved into 4s1p somehow and then connected it to the side. I don’t see how that’s possible without doing it intentionally.

They should connect like so. Left most cell positive to B10, B9- and B9+ to the center connecting all 4 cells, then right most negative connection to B8

yep thats what i did, what are the probability my multimeter is busted

anyway the fish paper in between the terminal, apparently i already added tesa tape on the +ve terminal  but since i am here, i’ll try to stuff in a fish paper

Yeah.. i think one of my multimeter is busted

oddly my ancient one also worked it around 49v?

:person_facepalming:, i think i’ll hv to hook up the serial and see the debug log

Try replacing the battery, might be borderline dead. The analog one probably just needs a calibration. Good thing to find out now about it the meter so it doesn’t throw you into a panic trouble shooting something else

I need help I just bought a controller on eBay but it doesn’t want to work the motors don’t move I want to know what am I missing Thers a red light flashing 5 times but I can’t seem to figure it out

Put all the details up, post pictures showing the wiring and if it’s got any markings on the pcb. Good clean pics

Looks like your analog meter is reading 40vDC to me, not 49v.

I have had 2 digital multimeters read way high voltage when its internal AA batteries or 9v battery were failing.

I have also had them behave weird with Nimh rechargables or the lithium Energizers that seem to be in the 1.82v range out of the box. where plain old alkaline are about 1.62v

I have to use plain old alkaline, but get suspicious or readings as those age.

I can confirm all my DMM’s read wacky high voltage when the internal battery is low(dead).

This is what is doin idk I hook it up to the motor s n it doesn’t want to turn the motors I aling the rims for the sensors I even tried it with another motor alone nothing the board is brand new I just got it from eBay also has anyone tried using a sin wave controller and did the same type of firmware to run the gyro sensor ?

Do the controller have to be some sort a way for it to work leveled or something

Can you hook it all up into the hoverboard or at least in the same configuration to confirm it is in good working order? Im not sure if the hoverboards use an accelerometer that’s needs to be biased or calibrated a certain way. You may need to do some experimenting

Thanks for checking! I’ll be sure to get battery replacement for the DMM and retest!

Here are some updates so far:

  1. Overall look and structure are done.
  2. Testing the firmware with me on it, not going that well, its not moving with me on it and getting 1 beep error (motor issue)

impossible it cant support my weight, as I tested it out when its hoverboard shaped..

anyway i blame it on my firmware implementation, might be missing something, i’ll keep debugging to see whats going on

Hi mate! Can You post Your firmware somewhere to download? I’m building DIY one wheel and was curious about softmoding hoverboard original hardware. Your soft looks like just what i was looking for!
