With Morning Comes Mistfall

You got the tires!!! They look super good!

If I was still running the step bro I’d definitely be keen on those tires.

Handle looks good, any reason why front and not back?

Cus thats a bull-bar not a handle, duh :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I like having a good handle on both ends of a board that’s as heavy/bulky as Mistfall. With this much to love, you gotta be able to get a good grip

Plus, this bull bar was not designed as a handle. It wasnt even designed as a bull bar lol. Its original intention was to make the board stand vertically on its nose! That didnt end up working out (by my math, the printed mounts would need to be like 200mm long at least, and I wasnt about that), but these mounts still work to lean the board up against a wall which is quite handy.

I’ve got a different handle design for the rear. Which reminds me…

This handle system is designed to be cheap and easy to make for everyone. It uses cheap laser cut steel plates (i had mine made of 3.175mm 304 stainless) and cheap threaded rod. I bought a 6ft stick of all-thread from the hardware store for like $6. A pack of matching nylock nuts cost more lol.

Its designed for 3/8ths all-thread, because that’s what is cheap and easily available here in the great mistake that we call America. But it should also fit M10 threaded rod just fine, for those of you in better places.

I also made a version for M1 drives, that uses 1/4in (or 6mm) threaded rod.

All boards should be able to nose stand!

Fully agree. I designed this super simple piece for my Cascade to make it nose stand. Worked out great!

If any Cascade owners are wanting to make it, be aware that it’s sized for my tires which are 180mm, vs the stock Hoyt7 tires which are like 175mm. Might make a difference, might not.

Yeah nice that’s exactly what i did with my semendeed build.

I need to figure out a tasteful way to do it for the mach. It’ll most likely be very similar to mistfall

I need to do a front handle for my build. Mostly so I have somewhere safe/sturdy to put my feet against the board whenever I do burn outs.

Sometimes I’m struck by how lucky I am to have a dedicated workshop space. It was a huge pain in the ass to build this, but it was totally worth it.

The work continues :ok_hand:

And other times I’m struck by how much of a moron I am :joy:

I just spent the entire 4 hours since I got to my workshop paying for my past sins :joy: every layer I peeled back just revealed more bullshit, until I decided I just have to strip the deck totally bare and start over. Literally found rocks and dirt and grass and chunks of glass between every single layer of this thing.

And once I got everything off (which took maybe 20min) it took me 3hrs to clean all the bullshit tape residue off the deck and clean the surface enough for new adhesive. Fucking SUCKED  I strongly considered just grabbing my spare Haero off the shelf lol

But finally got it cleaned up, and I can start moving forwards on the shit I actually came here to do lol
