Removing both duck handles and installing my new handle design is on my list for this spring refresh. Maybe I’ll put them up for sale lol
They go over the deck, under the grip tape.
Originally I used some thin foam under the grip tape as a “riser” but that didnt work out.
So I replaced the foam with 1/8th inch solid rubber sheet, That has been working fine, but the double sided tape I used to stick it down is peeling up, and my grip tape is shot, and I never put anything over the wires so the grip tape is starting to teap up in those spots.
For those reasons, I am making the probably stupid decision to remove the rubber and replace it with a 3d printed TPU stomp pad/wire channel on the rear, and nothing on the front (since I dont run wires up there anymore since I removed my davega).
It doesnt look like much (because it isnt) but it should be just enough depth in the center for the wires, and thin out near the edges to keep the impact to the deck concave to a minimum. I’m going to stick it down with VHB this time, so hopefully it doesnt peel up again. And fresh Vicious grip on top, of course.
Yup, never had an issue with them! The MR30’s are definitely the way to go for this. Low profile, low stick-out, and very robust.
