Holy shit how’d that happen
Went up a ramp, it had like a 1in high lip from the ground. Pop the front up, the rear hits the lip then it snapped. Was going at like 5mph.
It has to be a defect. Those decks are thick and bullet proof. Like a car could normally run over it and it wouldn’t be weird if it was unscathed.
Nooooooo sorry dude, hope this doesn’t deter you and you can get the build back up and running again soon
Hmmm, looks like the crack happened right at the holes for the binding, you reckon drilling in that area could’ve weakened it enough to cause this?
I’m not sure. Ash did the same to his raceboard without any issues.
True, though that deck also has carbon on top and underneath
Yep.
Definitely doing it wrong…
@jamie what do you think happened here? What’s the prognosis, need to skin it to reinforce or something?
@AlexB your Tommiboy foot hook adapters could have saved this board…
Drilling there surely doesn’t help, but I’d argue that if those two small holes would be issues, then it would’ve failed anyway with just a little bit more use. I think it must be some QC issue.
I’m not familiar with the deck, does it have fiberglass ply’s?
Pure wood decks don’t mix with esk8 in my experience. Gotta have some composite.
Website said 9ply Canadian Maple. I don’t see anything else. That said, the RE44 can handle lotta abuse though.
It’s just wood. But man. There is a lot of if. It seems so thick and beefy. I am really shocked to see it snap like that.
