What’s the difference between a VESC-X and VESC 4.12?

What’s the difference between a VESC-X and VESC 4.12? The schematics are the same. Should I go with the VESC-X or VESC 4.12? Where can I find the schematics for FOCBOX Unity and Flipsky’s VESCs? I have read some users complaining about issues with the DRV8302 chip in the VESC 4.12.

They are based on the VESC and the schematics should be opensource, correct? I am not able find schematics for any VESC 4 versions later than 4.12.

I will be using a low powered motor(7s, max:15A). Should I still stick to a VESC 6?

I created this topic on the ESK8 builders forums but the post was deleted.

Thanks

4.12 will do you fine on 7s. Don’t worry about the other questions.

This is the esk8 builders forum. The other thing is enertion’s customer support forum.

Here is VESC-X which is also known as FOCBOX 1.3

Here is VESC 4.12

And here is VESC 6.4

You should probably use a VESC4.12 for that. That’s almost an order of magnitude smaller than the typical esk8 loads.

These are clones of VESC 4.12

They’re not quite the same.

Hey, thanks!
But could you please point out the differences? Am I good with a VESC 4.12? I read some complaints about the DRV failing too often.
