VESC-Tool 2.0 and Firmware 4.0 - The beginning of a new era - (SERIOUS)

Sweet. the motors I want to try it on are my Maytech 6374s 170kV. on the Unity I have set 65 amps motor, 40 battery. so close enough. I gotta try it. I have been pondering buying new motors because the start up is not great… so maybe with HFI I can save my money. I am going to take an FSESC 6.6 dual plus off another board to try.

Can we use sensors and HFI simultaneously?

For example, keep temp sensing from the sensors but substitute the rotational sensing for HFI?

Jep, possible

Don’t forget that Unity sets battery amps per system, not per motor like every other (V)ESC.

Temp sensing works regardless

Not the right settings…

Took it on a longer ride today.
I have smart reverse on, so full brakes will reverse, partial brakes are just brakes. With HFI it beeps while I’m just braking. Is that necessary?

Your socks are actually blown
What motors are these?

Does lowering motor amps help?

I take a look tmw.

Well…
It is not perfect.
But it is better than what I had going.
This is my MBS build.
10s4p 40t.
8 inch T1 tires. 12/62T on a chain drive
Maytech 6374 170kv. One with bad sensors.
I have been running on a unity with one motor sensored .

So I put in a Flipsky Fsesc 6.6 dual plus.

Motor detection suggested 66 amps on the motor.

Then after riding a bit I turned down to 60… After riding a while I turned it to 70.

I think it did best at 60…

It cogs a tiny bit.
But what is different is that it sorts itself out and gets going.
This is without me fighting and doing hip flicks.

So probably gonna keep this board like this because it sure as shit is cheaper than buying new motors…

I’m sure that with some tweaking it will stop cogging.

Is it because you’re running both motor unsensored now?
Have you try the HFI mode so far?

He’s in the HFI mode

Yep. This is in Foc unsensored with HFI

Mine is cogging like the Original Fucking Hell.

I see, I’m not sure if HFI works differently on different motors but it was smooth like it’s sensored on my Flipsky 6354 :+1:

Anyone tried HFI on hubs or direct drives yet?

Ok. Holy bananas this is cool.
Adjusted the settings.
Seems as good as sensored.

Last night I had not watched the video all the way and had not messed with the voltages…
Looks like default was 20 7 and 10.

Bumped it up to 30 20 and 20.

Motor amps are at 63.

Pretty dang smooth.

Have you tried it w same setting but lower motor amps? It’s not as smooth when you lower it. Well at least on mine. That limits having different modes/profiles?

I did not. I just left it at the 63 Motor amps the wizard recommended.
I don’t use profiles really…
Just once I messed with it on a different board and I think the settings were too low and it would not really work.
