Vesc to motor Amperage

I feel that if i go with the higher amp rated vesc, like 100amp it will be better thangoing with say a lower rated vesc. Am i wrong for thinking this way.

I am not an expert but I’d say that it would be safer to use a VESC that can withstand higher amps than what you are going to put it through in average. I read many times that we rarely see higher than 40-50 amps per VESC.

I’d really like to get a more in depth conversation about Battery Max Amps. More specifically at what point do you really see a difference in performance. So to set a standard for the topic we’ll use this set up to help keep things consistent for now. 12s5p 21700’s 18.5ah 120amp continuous discharge.
