What is it with all these American channels referring to their DIY snowmobiles as ā€œtimber sledsā€?

Having lived in a few logging towns, a timber sled has no motor and is a couple skis screwed into some dunnage, used for hauling timber behind a snowmobile or quad.

He’s still at it

Seriously considering making a track system for my Acedeck Z3 using this track:

50mm wide track, can get custom length. I’m thinking the open track design would prevent snow and mud loading up between the teeth and track.

Used their contact form and received errors, (tried 2 different browsers), saw someone on Facebook saying they also could not contact that company, and I could not find any email listed for them. So that seems to leave me with companies on Alibaba, and of course it’s now Chinese New Year so might not be able to get anything done for 2 weeks, plus shipping time, and the snow could be all gone by then

Found these in the US, ordered 2 and 2 drive sprockets:

A bit wider and longer than I wanted but I should be able to make something work. Also might need to have a smaller custom drive sprocket made since these are rather large and don’t provide any additional gear reduction but we’ll see how it goes.
