Smallest fuse holder for main wire?

Pretty sure he’s talking about 360a discharge

Assuming he’s using 30a per cell

That’s only 12p

This thread is quite the read. Very interesting.

thats insane, why would anyone need 360a of discharge through a unity. I think the sane thing is a 360ah battery. Make it from NYC to lacroix HQ in 1 charge

Obviously the unity can do 180a per side /s

Also, he’s flexing the amps for some reason but I bet it’s a 12s10p battery

Who knows - 360ah makes way less sense

Also, no

The unity can do like 100 battery amps max

Amps are not a unit of capacity

Step 1: Search Mouser for the general thing you are looking for: Mouser Fuse Search
Step 2: Start looking at random choices and their data sheets: random appropriate fuse and datasheet
Step 3: Decide if it’s appropriate. From the datasheet that one will blow in about 1 second at 300 amps, I don’t know if that is what you want, but you figure that out. They have the characteristic curves there.
Step 4: Figure out what that fuse needs. From the datasheet it’s M8 lugs.
Step 5: Find M8 lugs for your wire gauge on mouser: Wire lugs
Step 6: Make sure you have heatshrink.

If you insist on using a fuse despite people telling you you don’t need it then there is at least the 3 minute solution for you. You don’t have to buy the parts on mouser if you don’t want, but that is how you find electronics parts. There are other options like digikey or newark, but just use something with easily searchable parts and links to documentation and it is very straightforward.

They are still good.

i luv mouser :hot_face::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Mouser is the slowest webapp in the entire world, it seems.

Digikey is so much easier to use.

It’s a 12s 8p 21700 pack. Each cell is rated for 45a discharge.

Straight from their site:

160A Continuous System Current
80A Continuous Motor Current
300A Max Current
150000 Max ERPM
Voltage rating of components 8V-60V
Compatible battery 3S to 12S

Not cont. and also with temp limit

yeah uhhh no.
Real unity specs:
Max phase current: 100a per motor (burst)
Max battery current: 50a per side
Max current: This is a bullshit spec that should be ignored
Max ERPM: 100k
Voltage rating: 3s-12s liion/lipo, 4s-14s lifepo4

Don’t trust specifications from people trying to sell you stuff.

@Audiobahn1000 Unlike most here, I’m in favor of fusing between the battery and the esc.

However, I don’t think your ready to build a board just yet. You need a better understanding of electronics or your going to kill your ESC, and maybe burn down your battery. This ElectroBOOM101 playlist is a good start. Also stop trusting shit manufactures say. Then in a week comeback here, and we can talk fuse sizing.

Yeah bro thats just a massive pile of bullshit, unitys cannot do such numbers. Also don’t fuse your main line if you don’t want to end up without brakes in case the thing blows.
