You are crazy lol

If you can and want, try to double check that power with a accurate current meter

Most if not all VESC based ESCs have quite a wrong power reading, specially at no load and it varies a lot depending on motor

I say this because with the tests I did at 75 V supply with a lower Kv motor, it shouldn’t be anywhere close to that power at that speed

Unless the fan power draw somehow goes out of the window on those high rpms

Hmm my chargers that were powering this have a current readout, il run it again and see how many amps are being pulled

Nice, but also don’t trust them much, I’ve found so many stuff that are completely wrong on current measurement

Like this piece of garbage that sometimes reads almost half of the actual value

How hard would it be to get 7490 motors with shielded stainless steel bearings/axle?

Not hard, just need to specify the bearings wanted

These chargers have been pretty accurate for me

So around 10-11 amps given a 5-10% tolerance

750w unloaded

Nice, thanks for testing

They will probably overheat in minutes if not seconds at those speed lol

You have a bad unit my man, I’ll link you my Ali express order if you want for a ammeter/coloumb counter. My experience has been relatively accurate current (+/- .5A) and accurate enough coloumb counting. Also doesn’t overheat at a steady 16A for 2 hours.

Just more motor spin and numbers video. But now with an IR camera, I am going to run this a perimeter again, and see if the measured temp in vesc tool is close to the motor can IR camera measured temp. Will see if I can calibrate my device a bit better too

On a side note, over 50% of the units ordered for this production batch are spoken for, they are going pretty quick, so if anyone is on the fence, nows a great time to get off the fence, with CNY looming I don’t think another production batch will be ready untill late March maybe early April

Don’t know if you set it already, but the beta value for Reacher thermistor is 3950, will change the reading vs the default

No I have not. Let me take a look

I know you tested FW6. Would you recommend it? Or is FW5.3, or other, going to be more reliable. Already pre-ordered

Fw6 is the way to go for sure on solo,

There are a few things to check though after you run motor detection

Make sure you set absolute maximum current to 175amps per controller, on a dual it’s 2 separate controllers connected via can

Also turn on “slow ABS current limit”
There have be no issues so far on fw6 and solo hardware. There is also no separate files for firmware, it’s officially part of Vesc project now so you can download official Vesc firmware from the Vesc tool huge thanks to @jaykup for this!!!

Solo also runs on higher Foc frequency than most controllers, we run 30kHz but this is already part of the firmware

Thank you everyone who has already preordered!

To celebrate I am also doing 15% off my premium hardware with the code “bling” at checkout :zap::fire::fire:

Let’s turn up our amps this year for that torque!!!

I have been using a pre-production unit for about 200km now and only have great things to say about it. It’s been flawless no matter what I throw at it and if you look through my post history you will know that I am not easy on my electronics. Running at 18s with over 200 amps of peak draw I still haven’t been able to get a single error no matter how hard I try. The amount of current this thing can handle without fault makes my Stormcore look terrible while being cheaper, and shipping ahead of advertised with Skyart’s excellent customer support makes this a no-brainer replacement for the Stomcore 100d in my personal board. Excited to hear what others have to say when they get them in hand.

Dang - that’s some crazy power. I think I know what my raceboard will upgrade to later this year haha
