*SCAM ALERT* neoHUB Group Buy (Same as loaded motor but sensored)

Yeah, the designs for these motors have been around for a while and I’ve seen other factories and resellers selling them since a couple years ago. They’re not new at all. You can buy the unsensored version from Ride Unlimited’s site and there were a couple instagram accounts last year and the year before saying the companies they represented were making “breakthrough” hub motors that just turned out to be these.

I think your post will confuse any Chinese reader even more. Just remember Jeff speaks Chinese mostly, and crossing the language barrier with sarcasm and bizarro allusions will create a lot of confusion. Chinese is a simple and more direct language derived from pictorial origins, one word can cover many meanings in English / Latin (English can expand to nuances and subtle details deep in their connotations).

they (BOA) are no longer US made

This is exactly what I was thinking too, be careful m8 we don’t want to stir the pot more based on a misunderstanding

Since 2018? I don’t remember seeing this exact design back then. Who was selling them?

The first company to go public with them was Ride Unlimited back in 2016. Unlimited sent me a review unit sometime in mid-2018 to review. Since 2017 I’ve seen pictures on Instagram from random OEMs with these hubs. They’ve been around.

It seems like Jeff has made some changes, as had all the other people claiming these motors, but the basic mounting mechanism and structure is still the same.

To get all this hate for protecting myself is just outrageous.

I havent charged back, I have entered dispute - I have said I will drop it if the shipment shows shipped - up to now it hasnt. I PAID FOR THE NEO HUBS IN NOVEMBER, We are almost in May.

If you think I’m a dick for that then so be it. I’m suspicious and hes got my money.

Also there was no fucking witch hunt guys, not until Jeff publicly posted the paypal dispute, it was going to be handled in PM. I had started the dispute about 30 mins before he made it public.

I personally made a promise to a vendor once that if my missing-in-mail product ever showed up I would payback the amount he’d already refunded me. I still stand by this today, it has been more than 6 months. Laissez-faire

Ahh okay. At this point, mounting of a hub motor can only be done so many ways… so as long as there are improvements being done, I wouldn’t consider them to be the same. But good to know.

To be fair, you paid for a pre-order. They weren’t in stock back in November, so that’s very different.
On top of that, factories were shut down all over China, causing mass delays. Pretty much every group buy I’ve ever taken part of has taken months to receive my item. November to April is not bad at all (assuming they ship).

How long after receiving a tracking number did you open the dispute? Had it been weeks (aka enough time to become suspicious)?

I get all that and I’ve been super patient. Had I not been made aware that there was reasonable suspicion Jeff is Jez I would have continued to wait no problems. As it is I have protection in place and have activated that until the motors show as shipped. I really dont care for any drama, I just cant afford to lose that money.

Yeah, always great to have that protection there. I just sigh when I see people upset about a sale gone wrong when they paid with F&F.

Always good to be on the safe side of consumer protection. However, from the way Jeff communicates in writing and all the massive language misunderstandings and communication breakdowns typical of cross cultural and language barriers. I cannot fathom them being the same person. One speaks in perfect English and would be able to grasp when sarcasm or nuance is occuring, the other speaks in perfect Chinese with all the usual iterations that come with it. They are definitely not the same person. It’s almost impossible.

I say they’re the same because in the OP and title Jeff literally said they’re the same motors from the same factory that is making Unlimited’s motors. I assumed there were improvements but it looks like they’re just different winding for the same stator, can, etc, with sensors added back in. The other ones over the years were the same as well.

If I’m not mistaken Jeff also modified the motor magnets. If I remember correctly that was being discussed at one point in time. Just another detail, for what it’s worth

Yeah I haven’t really been on the forum too much, you’re probably right

Was me charging back a dick move? Absolutely.

Was Jeff sharing Lee’s personal transaction information out here publically a dick move? Absolutely.

Looks like we’re balanced and Jeremy Wu learned a lesson at the very least. Dont worry, he’s not going to lose any money :joy:
