Dude, are you calling me ignorant for finding it funny how someone had a totally wrong impression of my most used tool?

Perhaps only ignorant as to how sarcasm is perceived on the internet when no attempt is made to convey said sarcasm?

I’m a hug machine, bring it in.

You accused me of ignorance, you found ignorance.

What’s the softest thing you’ve ever said, Justin?

On topic:

We’ve created the OS Esk8 Alliance Organization on GitHub. This is provided as a free service to open source Orgs.

The goal here is simply to create an organization to better coordinate open source development in this sector. It’s not VESC specific by any means, this is an open call to all developers who would like to contribute.

I’ve transfered ownership of the OSRR project over to this Org.

Please PM me if you would like to get involved! Plan is to setup several Org owners so that any code projects hosted there can remain in community hands. So far we’ve got 8 developers that have joined, and I’ve sent an invitation to Mr.Vedder as well.

Projects do not need to move here, this is simply to lay foundations for community development efforts, documentation, wikis, resources.

i have a few varied retorts

That’s like saying you thought high end wood chisels were only for idiots trying to open paint cans. Will assume sarcasm tag was present in source.

even not stepping out of web dev its blatently obvious how important GH actually is to everybody

probably started running everything on windows servers. windows belongs on workstations, not service platforms. They’ll never catch up to unix variants no matter how hard they try in the server realm

we need more of this ethos

i’m dead

bravo!

This kind of project can only benefit the community. If we all work together, I’m sure we’ll see some amazing things come out of this project. Looking forward to the future!

Love this!

So the idea is to have a central place (with distributed ownership) to make it easier to find different esk8 projects and keep them alive in case someone gets hit by the bus?

@DerelictRobot make sure to get the smart lights projects on board. Those could hugely benefit from some OS community development and standards.

My closest friend & colleague is already on that. Think she did it with a Teensy, tied uart rpm data to different animated effects. I’ll go digging for some gifs of it in action.

She’s already joined the Org

Cool I’m into lights, sounds like an easier project for an electronics noob like me
