They put 2 teeny tiny wires in a baby jst terminal for a voltmeter.

They then decided to apparently “crimp” the wires with pillows.

They slipped out, fused together, and laughed in my face as I ripped them apart.

The cables were crimped as if he used pillows instead of a crimping tool.

I.e. They slid right off BOTH the wires and were still in the jst terminal.

v4.12
To be clear this is squarely in the “my fault” territory.

We talking Maytech, Flipsky, focbox, 4.12 RadioShack Edition? I’m just curious which manufacturer you’re using. If it’s an older/original revision 4.12 you can pretty easily stabilize them to 50-60amp by replacing about 8x 0603 caps that were improperly spec’d.

This is all ‘our fault’ territory. Survival of the fittest in consideration, we’re pretty retarded for loving this sport. It’s an assumed risk imo.

I got these from TB.

Sorry for your loss.

I haven’t actually had hands on those but I’ll ask Dexter which version bom those were using. It might be an easy enough fix.

just curious what firmware you’re running?

this sounds the ranting of a crazy man, but i swear i got more drv faults each time i upgraded my firmware, until my tb4.12’s ended up in a drawer

i feel i owe it to dex to pull them back out, downgrade to 3.103, and give them a test ride. i’ve been reluctant to do it because of how freaked out i was to lose breaks going downhill…
