Yeah no clue what happened or what fixed it, but I’m eternally thankful to our great boffins in Europe

Post proof of dual boarding. Would be epic.

We had a team race in Colorado where we swapped remotes and first team to get both racers across the line won. It was wild.

Damn I wanna see that! Was it filmed?

Hmmm probably but this was years ago.

I won by being smart and just having my teammate hold my hand :sunglasses:

I’ve started seeing some beach towns renting one wheels with beach chairs on them :joy:

As suspected, it was incredibly sketchy to ride unless I get the hardest bushings available and tighten them the most I can get away with.

With that in mind, it is a pretty nice chair anyway and would’ve gotten one regardless, especially at 29 Australian pesos. I’ll use it for car camping.

It would have been funny if my elderly mother who strongly dislikes walking more than 100 feet could ride it.

@Ricco

That sucks sorry.
You can fix it and battle harden the cans to make them even stronger than before, I did it with 63100s and it’s had ABS overcurrent to around 200A with no issues. Alternatively what motor is it? I could take it off your hands

Also curious if you know how much current that was

Thanks. Ya I do plan to try fixing it and battle hardening them. I considered that when I first got them, but decided against it since I was scared I’d screw them up lol Im using this as an excuse to upgrade to some Pre-battle hardened 63100s from Flipsky, and I’ll keep the 6384s as my backup, or for a new board.

Honestly I think it was due to an impact rather than excessive current. It happened when I was testing my snow conversion, and the motor still runs Ok once its moving, so I didnt notice when exactly it happened.

@rafaelinmissouri
What software/app are you using to make your .gif’s?

I seem to remember you(or maybe someone else) said what they were using, but I could not find with a search.

Thanks for sharing your builds.

I’m just using the Samsung Gallery build in app.

I’m pretty sure my 63100s were supposed to be battle hardened and the top bit had no epoxy and broke just below.

Oh shit :astonished: Thanks for the heads up! I’ll have to check my 63100s once they arrive. Was your motor damaged from an imapact or high current?

I got them second hand so I’m not 100% sure, but the can is undamaged in that area and apparently the same thing happens to these 63100s a lot.

It’s not plain motor current that’s the problem, but ABS max spikes. It depends on your setup but using encoders would help a lot with being able to use more motor current without spikes much above motor current. I just need to find out how to wire one to a spintend.

And I know it’s hard to find an epoxy adhesive good for battle hardening motors, Araldite 2014 is at least close to being the best especially if you cure the cans in the oven. Careful an adhesive might have great strength figures and be resistant to 200C but is weak above 50C

All FS Battle hardened Motors only have the magnets filled up to there.

Wait really? I can’t imagine why

And do flipsky ā€œbattle hardenedā€ motors ever have an epoxied stator?

Nope, only what you see on the magnets, nothing on the stator.

Here are pics from the first motors of their BH line from 2021

So they only BH 50% of it…? Ig that’s why they called it BH. 'Bout Half.
