It was pretty easy to mount the tires. I just had to put a foot on the hub to squish the tire to get the first screw threaded. The rest went on easy after that

@Shadowfax @rafaelinmissouri if you want to widen the hubs here are the files, print them from PETG and they will survive pretty much anything, I tested them pretty extensively at this point. I can make other width as well if you want but it has to be over 10mm. (only fits XL hubs)

If the fitment is too tight, take a dremel with a sanding disk to it going around in circles and within a minute or two you can probably make it fit. Try not to remove too much material though.

The only thing to be aware of is that the bearing seats of the hub can loosen up from a lot of abuse especially when widened, and you should check the bearings periodically, especially the inner one likes to wear a bit over time. For most tires you’d be best of with the 15mm one. Perfect fitment for linnpower slicks and the like and also about right for my 9" treaded tires. It’s pretty much only the 9" slicks that really prefer something wider.

I’m surprised they lasted as long as they did. The Puck is awesome but with the price, spec and quality of off the shelf boards these days, the price of their boards is a hard sell.

Eh, they were expensive, but it seems like vesc based prebuilts are almost gone, and I personally wouldn’t really consider anything else except maybe a JKescs, but I haven’t looked into those much, especially for something actually high-end. I guess maybe the overlap of people who want vesc based things, but don’t want to build it themselves or buy something used/custom is small, but it’s not like they were offering the same thing as the plethora of prebuilts that are out there.

what they did do though was offer all of their parts, so there are a few DIY builds out in the wild rocking Hoyt components

Its almost as if vesc based prebuilts are a bad idea!

it’s almost as if vesc costs more than it’s worth as an esc…

Or quality costs money, and a lot of people aren’t willing to or don’t understand the value of buying something quality. Lingyi sells a lot of ESCs, but they’re literal e-waste, as far as I’m concerned.

plenty of Lingyi and Hobbywing escs rolling just fine… that feels like bias.

I’ve never had one last more than a couple hundred miles. Them breaking is what got me into DIY.

again, that sounds like bias. less are breaking than are working as I’ve seen.

vesc offers customizability, but at a high price.

Having a bad experience in itself isn’t a bias. It’s a fact. I stated two facts.

two facts that only consider a single individual’s experiences.

but I’m not here to argue opinions.

Alright, I’m just saying you called those facts a bias. Yes, that they are e-waste is an opinion, but it’s one I have for good reason. The second comment was just two facts that back up my opinion.

Siiiick - thanks dude! 10mm could be just the ticket here for the original xl rims with the mbs / cst rally tires

Love the dual approach from tomiboi on the rear and MBS on the front, I’d been thinking about this for the dreamonseed

I reaaly like it! Lock you in really well

What are those?

That’s just what I call the big chungus tires that mbs sells. I think they’re called the agent tire or something.
