Just hold a water bottle in left hand by your waist, ride in a straight line, then raise your left arm (90 degrees to the left) with the water bottle. You’ll turn without leaning.

Wouldn’t a ski rope tied to the front truck do better? just pull your weight into it as you lean. If you pull hard enough it may give you more speed too - as it could help to pass a bowel movement more forcefully as you accelerate - ejecting mass and giving you thrust.

Duuuude.
That is a really beautiful gasketing job. Did you just use the butyl tape under foam or what’s happening there.

Butyl is the truth.

Thanks man! There are a few hidden blemishes but im pretty stoked with the finished result. It’s butyl, solid neoprene, topped off with 1/16ā€ hard neoprene foam to be the compliant interface layer.

I tried to use silicon to glue the hard neoprene to the enclosure but it failed… as i was routing it to shape :upside_down_face:. Next time it will come out better but this turned out nice enough to keep. The butyl holds so well and clamped overnight it conforms perfectly. Just razored off the squeezins

Dude.
I have never put Butyl between the enclosure and the foam. I go enclosure, foam, butyl.

This is so much better…

Dangit.

Im keeping a lot of photos and was planning on doing a build thread here in a bit, just wanted to get the graphic and colors closer so i can start trying to name it first. Ill do a write up just for the gasket so maybe you can save yourself the mistakes i made… then hid

Just get rid of the foam. Enclosure - butyl - deck.

Or are they Radium SR125s?

Yeah.
I have done that.

It’s great. Until you need to open the enclosure.

The enclosure Butyl Foam won’t be as good of a seal… But being reusable would be awesome.

But since we are talking about it.

I praise you every time I use Butyl because you are the one that told me about it.

Since then how many rolls of butyl would you reckon I have bought???

Yup

@Goride65 ill have replacements for you at track tonight

I think I’ve bought at least 7 myself so I reckon you’re probably up over 40 by now. Am I close? :face_in_clouds:

I found getting the enclosure back off requires two things: the enclosure needs to be strong, and you need to apply constant pressure for a long time. It will come off really slow, but it is coming off

Apparently I’m slacking at only 6 packs…

I used it a whole lot tonight!!!

Following up on this years later, it was a HUGE pain in the ass to remove the paint from the bearing housings. Remembering to have those taped off would have saved me a shameful amount of time

Didn’t age well huh…
