@tuckjohn how do you like the SR125’s? I just got mine mounted up, I’m excited to try them out!
I’d love to hear how you feel about them so far!

Wait… I spy no belts here…

Haven’t ridden em yet,

Waiting on belts to arrive

And I’m no expert but I don’t think riding skateboards without motors are a thing

I believe they call it “analog esk8”

Is it analog or acoustic? Organic?

I vote “Acoustic Esk8” personally.
Mainly because I know this happened in the cycling world too.

well the inverse of acoustic is electric so that makes sense

I was going on the logic of analog vs. digital

Guys we already did this

But go cast your vote

I still stand by my vote

Idk man that was almost 3 years ago. Maybe it’s time terms were updated to get with the times?

Anyone can change their vote, it’s still open

Can you show me how you have your feet on this guy?

I think acoustic sounds the coolest.

But in my mind and when I say it, it’s analog.

Also stepping on said analog skateboards these days is so sketchy… Since they don’t have brakes…

As a physicist who gets irritated by physics words being used incorrectly, both acoustic and analog bother me. From a technical perspective, if you didn’t want to use push, then manual would probably be the most appropriate term.

Edit: I will say, for whatever reason, analog bothers me less than acoustic. Also, manual has the issue of already being associated with a trick. It would be a good chance to do xzibit memes, though, so maybe that isn’t so bad.

Puts the fear of death back into ya. Makes you feel alive.

Gotta do at least one downhill run per year to keep refreshed. Last year I did it on a banana. Almost died lol.

It looks brilliant could we get some details? I’ve been wanting to do something similar with a much larger tooth count for big reductions on 8”. Is it lasercut or machined?

For sure.
It’s laser cut from Send cut send.
I had mine made out of quarter inch 316 stainless.
Quality seems spot on and the gears mesh well.
Time will tell on durability, but based on my first ride, I’m not terribly worried.
I used a gear module to creat the DXF on fusion 360.

Ideally looking back, I’d have gone thicker. I may still get some .375” made

Thank you, that’s really helpful. I might stack 3 layers of 3mm 316 or 4 of 2mm for quality.

I would do this or even 127 tooth too.
