Made it for a evolve GTX bambo deck.
Iām not sure yet if I will skin the deck to be more stiff or do anothe flexible version of this enclosure.
This was mostly for trying out the whole process. Since this ist my very first mold and enclosure I wanted to start with a lesser complicated lamination.
Edith: I did a 3D printed inlay for the geometry of the xt90 loopkey. This work pretty well. So maybe I just put some 3D printed rips as inlays in there as well to make it flexible.
Maybe I have to start a thread about my tinkering. In short: CAD, 3D printing of the mold, grinding, lacquer the mold, printing the inlay, GFK layup.
This enclosure has a lot of air bubbles. Maybe some vacuming next time.
It looks realy nice. Thread will be realy good idea. Just thinking to build race board and one of the option is diy battery enclosure. I know that here is lot of info how to do it. Just mostly I saw opposite mold style and see more peopleās ideas is every time beneficial.
My itchy hands, arms, feet and forehead are just a tad envious of how nice that finish is straight out of that mold.
Made a test fit before doing any more on the cosmetical side (and chargeport and stuff). It is already stiff enough to dont need to add any more layers.
On the other hand the deck feels way less flexi now. Have to see if I like it.
Looks great dude, I wish I had the gear to print a female mold like that. Would save so much work. This is how mine came out after 1 brushed on coat of resin. Using a foam buck.
I might use it as a female in the future.
That looks awesome!
I spend quite a lot of the time on the CAD design. Since Iām a engineer and do CAD all day long Iām quite familiar with the tool (I use Creo 7). I really hate grinding and polishing so the idea was to do it once with the mold and beeing able to produce at least two castings.
Giving it a coat of resin after demolding is definitly the faster way for a one time thing or/and if you dont have access to CAD and a nice 3D printer.
Blowing them up is always a little fun.
thirty?
I barely know him
Go for the record! Take it from the guy that did it on a single tkp truck
Suspension?
Yessir.
HEAVILY inspired by @Tony_Stark with the Radium Mach One. Wish I could just buy that from them⦠but wallet and wife wonāt allow it for now, so trying my hand at implementing his genius into my own board.
Would you share the files for this?
Iāll need to test it all out first and verify it works.
Then, Iād want to check with @Tony_Stark before sharing anything, I definitely donāt want to undercut his innovation.
But permitting those two things are a go, Iād share the files and do a small write up how they go together.
Weāre putting a bigger emphasis on helmets on the next few rides. I generally donāt care as long as they ride within their limits, but since Iām helping start this group and organize these rides itās definitely more important now.
Letās have a little dermal and solder party at my place huh? Iāll show you the magic trick for those stupid big bullets.
