[Prototyping] Modular Rugged Battery system for esk8

Bottom- wrapped tight, flux, and solder.
Top-kapton tape. Thinking this might be the solution for keeping it thin and flexible but also in one piece

Superglue, so simple, so functional

Is that not going to insulate against conductivity? Or are you only glueing spots where the conductivity not not important? Also silicone conformal coating might remain a little more flexible, and (according to @b264 - I have yet to try this) you can solder straight through it if need be.

But if the superglue is doing the job, then thats a great low cost solution!

I tested continuity with my voltmeter, and it appeared not to be an issue, but will certainly test more before i use it at the solution 100%.

(V1 In white, V2 in black)

looks great @Zach ! is it safe to presume the final version will be printed in red? (because red is faster)

hell no hombre! red is great and all, but theres a reason batman went for black.

this is not me saying my parents are dead, this is me saying black is sleek

These are with the magnets we discussed? Any idea if it’s strong enough?

Same magnets but lesser amount. I’m opting for just 2x 3x4x20 magnets per side, and then using a steel key (4x4x40)embedded on the battery magazine side

Possible Aesthetic change :eyes:

Other than that, im working on getting another printer, or atleast access to another printer, since i no longer have access to the printers at my school (#thankscorona)

But,

Hope y’all are safe

Big thanks to @Mainflow for helping me print out one of the Mags to test tolerances. This is why this community > others imo

Also for the sharp eyed among you, you will notice that the Mags are more NESE style, and as such, I will take no credit for that. If the internal design interests you, please check out @Agniusm and his NESE modules, as theyre essentially this system but internalised. Awesome stuff.

Very cool, @Mainflow

Love to see this as well.

Have you moved towards using the NESE tabs then? Or are you still using the copper braid?

Still using the copper braid for now. The ampacity is great but I think I might need a thinner solution
