I prefer my Overion 130kV enclosed (but I think the v2 is with 10mm now … anyway, easy to swap if you really want), maybe eMail Yann to know more. (I used them since spring 2017 !!! Top of the top for me )
Ooo those motors look nice! To bad the 130kv is out of stock. Hopefully they will be before I get my gear drive. I think I might just find a local machine shop to lathe down the shaft to 8mm.
Oh I miss read your post. I thought you said sk3. Yes I know the sk8 are diffent models. Right now I have narrowed it down to either sk8 130kv or bioboards 150kv.
Thats Maytech based motor vs Turnigy…I got both…130kv Maytech and 149kv Turnigy SK8…I prefer SK8, but it is a matter of personal choice…130kv motors have amazing torque, super fun to ride…
One thing I was concerned about on the sk8 motors is the lower the kv the less amps they can take. I dont know if that matters but I haven’t noticed that on any other motor.
So having lower max amps increases range? I definitely want 130kv because my gearing is so low and I can change it. Even at 130kv my top speed would be 40mph. Maybe 110kv would ve better.
My 130kv motors are in my mountainboard, with chain drive from Overion; 9 teeth motor and 42 wheel…Fast as hell, torque is amazing…For my daily drive E Toxx mini gear for MBS trucks, most amazing feeling and torque, but speed its no more than 50 kph…So gear drive kind and ratio, makes a huge difference…I really like 130kv if you can manage to change motor spur sizes…
I do not know, but Sofu knows everything about them, and you could ask her, since I do not know anything about Bevel gears…Also I think they are more suitable for urban use, therefore it maybe a better idea to chose a 149kv motor…but I think that kind of guidance is in Sofus words…
Wait, you understand that at the same voltage a higher kV motor will spin faster than a low kV right?
Not to mention you can pretty much gear the performance of any motor to output what you prefer. It just requires a bit of maths to get the correct reductions.
