New Propel Ruckus Hydraulic Truck

missed my chance to google it.

I have been chatting with a bunch of influencers about the Ruckus. It has a weird side to side drifting sensation over 20mph for several of them. It is also difficult to tune since it has 4 different things that can be changed. Buyer beware.

I’ve spoken to some also and the issue seems to be that Propel sent very soft, mixed bushing setups at first to testers. The ADT is sensitive like DKP so soft bushings are good for slow speed carving but not higher speeds.

More bushings are being released ahead though. This was posted on the Propel facebook group page.

I search coupon code fore fore the ruckus … :face_with_peeking_eye::pray::wink::smiley_cat:

I’ve tried motorcycle steering dampers in the past and nearly always wanted the front damping as low as possible. You need at least one truck to react quickly otherwise when you hit bumps or slightly lose balance going fast the board doesn’t want to come back underneath you and it feels like you’re not connected to it and keep losing balance.

I think dampers are a good combo with metal springs, but I don’t understand why the Ruckus has dampers, springs and also two different sets of urethane bushings…

We still offer lots of independent suspension boards but it would be crazy to only build models for 1 segment of the industry. We also offer Pivot, a 2 in 1 and now Ruckus.

That’s exactly right. The function is similar to how dampers are widely in use on motorcycles around the world. The damper set too high will obviously be restrictive. It is a fuse to help aid the rider, not a total replacement of bushing value. Ensuring that every owner sets up the best bushing setup for themselves, their weight and their ride style, including the coil over tension for return to center, is how you first dial in the Ruckus. From there you can begin small with ADT set to 1 front and 2 back and play as you want from there. As for why we have so many variables there? It’s to allow for customization to dial in the ride for each rider based on their weights and preferences. Our X4S/X4R line also has a lot of customization options.

I’ve owned several street bikes that used a steering dampener. Love em, they provide much confidence at high speed.

After spending the week getting to know Ruckus, I can already feel the resemblance. Out of all the boards I’ve owned and ridden, ruckus is the only one that doesn’t terrify me at those speeds. Another thing to note is I can accelerate full out to top speed and the trucks actually feel more stable. Unlike every other esk8 I’ve ridden. And the thing launches :rocket:

The rebound bushings are key to this setup, adjusting the stiffness of the spring and bushing completely change the way it rides.

I had to tighten up my rebound, and it made a huge difference. The grey bushings are perfect for my weight and riding style, but I’m also going to try the stiffer, black bushings they offer. I’m curious how much it will change up the ride. Anyway, I’m blown away how customizable this board really can be. Amazing. Thanks again Propel, another home run !

You have to understand that China is a 12 hr time difference from Florida so when I say I’ll get you an answer tonight, its usually not till the next morning here. I replied back to you asking for your address so we can look up the shipping options you requested.
Once I have that info, I can facilitate your order for you.
Watch your facebook inbox for the next correspondence but I need your address before I can provide any more information.

I have already replied to various emails over the past 2 days, but no reply via email. It has been over 24 hours via Facebook, so that is definitely possible fore support. You have me compleet adress. Thx fore you support.

I was just asked to pay via a link that is used for donations. Please please don’t do that, otherwise you won’t have insurance via Payal or credit card. If the package is lost, insurance will not cover it. I don’t think Propel’s work is particularly professional. I bet they would have sold a lot more of their boards but if you can’t checkout no one will buy it. I find 323 USD for fast shipping of 2 weeks to be way too expensive.

I mean, it is technically on pre-sale pre-order and so when companies do that they drop the price below retail in part because they know the buyers who order first will have a wait as the first boards have to travel all the way from China over the sea first. What you are basically trying to do is skip that process and jump the line and the cost of freight from China for something that is probably 50lbs in packaging direct to your home is expensive in 2024. I can’t blame them for expensive air shipping costs because I imagine it does cost a lot. Thankfully since you aren’t paying retail prices at the start it sort of offsets for that.

I used this link once with propel, when I special ordered something that wasn’t in the list. They only use this payment method in these cases I believe. I’ve purchased many many things from propel in the past, via the regular methods (visa, PayPal etc)
I received my ā€œmulti linkā€ order with tracking number and everything, on time with no issues.

Yes, if you order special small things you can certainly do this. But not for 1500-2000 dollars. you don’t have insurance from Paypal.
