Need help choosing a deck (UK)

Roads are a bit shit. You can still have fun on thane but you have to be a bit selective on where you ride. With AT tyres you can go anywhere

191cm on a bro deck no issues with space. Ive seen bigger people ride them with no issues either

LUNA 350 trucks accept 12 and 10mm axles. These trucks will work on a bro deck

What parts for your build do you own at this moment? You have my dimensions and i would only go with the widest deck you can find. 11in if you can.

I completely disagree with rusins comments above. I have only rode Urethane until a week ago, when I finally stood on a Prototipo.

It was so good - I bought it, but, get this, I’m gonna put either my Boa’s or TB110’s straight on it when i get those bearings sorted . . . .

Each to their own I guess, but (within London anyway), one huge benefit of Rona and her Corona has been a huge amount of road re-surfacing has occurred = The Perfect time for Urethane ! ! !

@ispeedca not bought anything yet, looking at sorting the deck first then working back from there

Does anyone have the dimensions of the Apex Preditor as not listed on their site?

@Snowhiter yeah suppose it really depends on the area, some near me have pot holes that are huge but there are also some nice quiet smooth roads so just wanted to be able to swap wheels if possible on the board I choose so I have the option if I want it that’s all

Predator is a haero bro. 96 centimeters long. Not sure on width offhand. Haero Bro 96 Mountainboard Deck - ATBShop.co.uk. More info there ^^

The ONLY reason i use urethane wheels is when i’m going somewhere that i would need to pick up my board and walk with it, in that case i bring my boosted mini. But when i ride for fun, i only take the big wheel boards because i don’t feel like looking down in front of me all the time. I fell so many times on the boosted because i was looking at something for a second and didn’t notice a pothole or huge crack in front of me. So i guess it would come down to what you want from life

Boards that switch between thane and pneumatic generally need different pulleys/adapters for each. However, if you can get your hands on a set of infinity hubs, or the new hubs from superbeast, you can run pneumatics on some of the same gear as urethane. Infinity hubs+boardnamics m1 gear drive+a set of tb110’s is a great combo for running both with ease.

First decide if you wanna go mountain board for road uses or normal longboard because it will narrow down your truck choices. Then if you wanna have the choice of wheels, make sure to get 10mm axles.

I had a landyacht 40 build but when it got the lacroix deck it changed everything. The size for my feet was just so much better and comfortable.

It seems the width is not indicated anywhere… Anyone knows the actual width?

Also the new Hoyt 5 inch pneumatics are absolutely wonderful as an in between option for an AT setup, and fit 3ds gear drives. It’s an awesome setup, I run it on my daily driver.

@Kai gotcha. Any difference between the 2 or just the price? It’s cheaper on Apex’s site

Exact same deck, different finish, and I think I’ve heard apex does a better job on the inserts for bindings xD

@ispeedca on the orange one on their web it lists it as 21cm in the middle and 26 at the wider sides

I’m only around 5’9, but I have huge feet so I prefer wide decks as well. 11-12 inches is perfect imo. Remember that you can install “wings” like sabre blades on any deck, if you want it wider.

I just checked my nazare deck and it’s 28.5. I wouldn’t like to go lower than that since i still find it kinda narrow for my taste. i wear size 14 US . That’s the reason i just ordered a flux at2 diy, it’s 30cm wide… can’t wait to try it on.

The flux is the only deck I’ve ridden that my foot didn’t hang off at all. I’m built like a fucking kingdom hearts character. I do not like how flat it is, but I like soup bowl level concaves. Not sure if the V2 is very different.

What’s your budget? Because a ok board will easily costs you more than 2000$ There’s plenty of premade board that will cost you a lot less and have 2 wheels/pulley setups.

But building it is so much fun. Just don’t take my word for it, i easily get excited just looking at battery cells.

Supposedly a little better in the concave area. I’ll have to wait an see.

This is the only answer other than a bindingless street Bro.
At 6’4’ a hummie will feel a bit cramped. Demonseed feels so damn good and @eBoosted has a slick enclosure for it that fits 12s4p easy and 5p with the righr configuration.
