Hmmm dropped some nickel across these 6 pins and now my malectrics seems to be broken :scream: anyone know what’s up?

Not sure…I wrote them an email…that’s weird that those pins are exposed if shorting them ruins this thing

those are the pins on the arduino nano board. i’m hoping that even if you did short something you only fried an easily replaceable $3 board

I dont know much about these things, do you think if I bought another nano, and just replaced the one on here this thing would spring back Into life lol?

That, and you’ll obviously have to flash the appropriate code onto the new arduino.

But yea, once you’ve done that with any luck all will be working again.

I went for a dry cell car battery, doubles as a reserve if power goes out, keep it charged with a solar cell

should be easy peazy

Posting this here since I found it personally hard to find (a couple hoops to jump through). And I personally used the wrong size battery, a motorcycle battery at 340A CCA :man_facepalming:

In general it turned out that car batteries at arround 600A (CCA) work best for most cases, like 0.1 to 0.2mm nickel strip. The absolute maximum the welder can handle is 800A (CCA).

The best battery size also depends on what material you want to weld. For very thick nickel strip (0.25 – 0.3mm) you may want to go closer to the 800A maximum battery size.

I’m using a Zeee 9Ah 100c 3s LiPo and it’s pretty good I think but the battery wires get really hot after a few welds. Like not too hot to touch but hot enough to be uncomfortable.

Run a fan over everything. It’s not much different w a Kweld but the fan helps a lot.
