Does your set up not idle/coast at all? I’ve had complete power cut outs before but the board was able to just coast to a stop after.

Sounds like you need to hit the gym when it is dead so you can turn the treadmill up to at least 20 mph and jump on it for practice  It would look dumb but it would be a safer way to practice than just jumping off your board at full speed.

At 23 mph I can get a good 3 steps in when intentionally bailing which is pretty good. One day I got spooked by nearby construction and thought the noise was a board issue. I didn’t want to risk further damage and just immediately bailed without doing anything to slow down. Got a nice face of grass and felt like an idiot once I looked up and saw the construction.

I have BN m1-ATs, the freeroll is better than belts. But when you’re leaning forward tucked while full throttling up a hill and the power immediately cuts out, the instant slow-down is a lot more pronounced.

I like to think I’m a pretty fast runner, I’m not sure that’s the issue haha. I’ve been able to run/roll off most of my other falls without issue. This one was just a particularly unfortunate situation given the nature of the failure and the commitment to blasting uphill.

I understand only half of this. What do you mean by tucked?

I didn’t mean for it to help with this fall. I know all too well the lack of being able to run that off since my fall was close to identical to yours and just ended up suddenly being an inch or two above the ground which gives no time to react. Just in general/ as a joke since it would be funny to see people posting their bail training

Being able to run even just a few steps at 20+ mph is impressive as is given that a man built for running and with a ton of training can only get to 28mph

Although I’m sure my form is nowhere near this good, this is what I mean by tucked. I tend to lean forward when I accelerate to avoid wobbles.

Ahh so it is what I would call just bending down and riding in the least cool way
I only ever do it when the wind causes issues and did not know it could help with wobbles. Now if only me from 2 years ago could know that so I could loosen my trucks and get better turns without being too wobbly overall

Been getting back on the board the last couple of days. MRI for my knee is another week out but the pain isn’t that bad when I’m riding, so fuck it.

Did 12 miles with the lady on her scooter last night. Pretty hilly route, but I had to keep pace with her at 15-20mph the whole way. How does consumption look? Not really sure what good levels look like.

Then I did another 11 hilly miles today and rode a good bit faster, 20-30+ most of the way. Makes sense that consumption is a bit higher.

Side note, how exactly does battery cutoff start/end work? This is my current setting:

Will my power start to decrease at 40.8v and then be dead at 35v? Maybe someone smarter than me can explain.

Exact, the problem is that every voltage sag under 35 will effectively turn off your escs

Been loving these new Lacroix tires from @RickSlide

They have a weird rotational, almost clicky sound when you carve too hard, but they ride nicely. Super balanced, hardly any wobble. The tread is similar to the Clevers I was previously running, but I definitely feel the difference. They’re also noticeably more durable than the Clevers, which is cool.

Not sure where these tires came from, looks like Lacroix doesn’t sell them anymore. I’ll have to find another way to get replacements in the future… or switch to phatties

I also added some handles for convenience. Makes it a bit easier to lug this thing around.

Man, I love integrated lights. No hassle with dismounting to charge, easily controllable from the remote. Just need to add my brake lights next time I open up the enclosure.

These are some headlights I salvaged from an Ecomobl ET. Not the brightest, but they do the job for a quick nighttime liquor store run.

Say what you will about Spintend but mine has been reliable for over a year and hundreds of miles, and the easily integratable light/horn features can’t be beat.

That’s awesome. You still running the Voyager? How do you like it with the Spintend?

Yep, using the Voyager remote. I probably won’t upgrade until I finally get my hands on an iRemote or somehow an OSRR. Nothing else has the same functionality.

The Voyager isn’t anything amazing, but I went back to the Spintend thumbwheel remote for a ride and I swear it doesn’t feel nearly as responsive.

Still getting used to the lack of clearance with a DS enclosure, so I added some stylish racing stripes. Kind of annoying not being able to take rolling curbs and speed bumps. A top mount build is definitely in my future.

Id recommend a 3mm riser. It’ll give you a decent amount of extra clearance while making an indiscernible difference to ride height.

I just put on a duck grip and added risers to the rear truck, hoping that makes a difference :crossed_fingers:

Hehe yeah I know what you mean. I can’t take any speed bumps right now. On the wide speed bumps I can go diagonally like them lowered cars. I try to avoid the smaller speed bumps at all costs, but that’s impossible lol. And I’m already on risers.

Do you have to completely air up the tube before assembling the hub or do you need a special adapter?

Edit: Also what size socket fits the nuts on the back side of the gt3’s? Answer is 7mm

no, with my pump i’m able to connect to the nozzle without much issue

not sure about the screws tbh, i used one of my allen keys… I’m sure BN has them listed on his site

What pump do you have?

not sure if it’s possible to get the same one anymore, but I use this:
