No, the “50” is the cross-sectional area of the series connection that @JulienB was thinking of using.

Since the series current is flowing long-ways down the nickel, the cross section of that current path is 50mm wide and 0.2mm thick. For a cross-sectional area of 10mm².

thankssss, dumb me wasn’t comprehending :sweat_smile: I’ve always wondered whether 2 layers of .2mm nickel as serial connections was sufficient over 12awg; I somehow feel like it’s less capable of providing adequate current flow but that’s just my gut feeling

It all depends on the cross-sectional area in the direction of the current-flow :slightly_smiling_face:
