I think i’ll be continuing forward with a 53T profile. With B264 down for a few sets, i should be able to bring the price down a good bit, especially with me being in for two sets myself - if anyone else is interested, let me know soon so i can get a quote.
I would like to try a 53t set too for kegel. I want to test them with the MAD Max 125mm urethane wheels.
Shoot me a DM
You’re calling them Max 125mm?
I think so. I liked MAD Phat but others told me this may not be an appropriate name.
@Boardnamics Any chance i can partner up with you for acquiring the press fit adapter component of your pulleys with these?
What’s up peoples
Whats up haha, trying to make some higher tooth count pulley options for people on the larger thane wheels that are becoming prevalent like Radium SR125 or MAD 125’s, wondering if you’d have spare press fit wheel adapters that i could bundle with these pulleys for people that are interested and don’t already have BN pulleys to swap over
I don’t believe I have “spares”. I’d have to check inventory.
So another update here, it looks like 53T is the final choice, and they’ll be in 7075 aluminum, no anodization, 16mm wide tooth profile. I’m only going to make enough for the people who have confirmed interest and then a few sets spare, so if you want a set, let me know within the week. Price per set will probably be about $65-70 and then whatever shipping is to get them to you. Cheers guys!
(Gonna tag the people that said they might be interested depending on price here)
@stan_he @andoug
Appreciate the work you’re putting on these. Unfortunately going to hold off at the moment. Thanks though
I’m considering the idea.
I’ve got a pre-built lonestar in my collection and it’s one of my least favourite boards to ride. I think the blue truck bases are too tall, because the battery construction and enclosure aren’t exactly compact.
I’m trying to figure out if the SR125 wheels might make it a nice board to ride, or not?
If so, according to the calc, at 18s id be better off with 53t pullies than the 45s Radium’s doing.
Thoughts?
Not sure how much ground clearance you’ll have with 125mm wheels
Yeah good point. You’ve had me double check my measurements, whilst actually leaning it over, and you’re right. I don’t really have 37mm to drop.
I’ve already ordered gear drives for building another Longboard over Christmas. Might have to give these a miss this time round, as much as I like the idea.
Alright, the RFQ has been sent for 12 sets to be made, 7075 T6 aluminum with tighter tolerances than before. 8 sets are already claimed, so i’ll have four sets spare for whoever else wants in. Final price is TBD, but it’s looking like 65 + whatever shipping is to you (I’ll be using pirateship so it should be less than $10). If anyone wants, i can also bundle your order with any other stuff that i make (titanium anti sink plates, CF PETG wedge risers, aluminum motor shims, etc)
Final engineering drawing here for oogling and for anyone here to call me out if i missed something lol.
I’m down for a set + BRP’s also
Shoot me a DM, the BRP hubs are a bit away from being fully ready.
So, another update here for those of you interested!
Ive managed to bring the price down a good bit and have a few sets made with the boardnamics wheel adapters bundled. New pricing is as follows (shipping not included)
$70 for a set with your choice of kegel or abec wheel adapters.
$50 for a set without wheel adapters.
I’m only making a few sets with the wheel adapters bundled, so ill need confirmation of how many sets you guys want of that relatively soon. In total, there will be 25 sets of the pulleys with probably 10 sets or so with the wheel adapters made, first come, first served.
As another update, i’ve paid for the first batch to be made by BN. They’ll be done properly in 7075 aluminum, because i like having everything made overkill, and should be a perfect fit for kegel and the new SR125 wheel pattern. In total, there will be
-
6 sets with the kegel adapters included (1 accounted for), at a price of $70/set
-
19 sets without the kegel adapters. (6 accounted for), at a price of $40/set)
Shipping will likely be about $10.
I don’t think i’ll be making another batch of them, so once these are gone, that’s probably gonna be it lol. And as always, i am more than happy to bundle your order with anything else i make (wedge risers, anti sink plates, motor shims, pretty much anything that will fit in a 420x420x480 3d print bed if you really desired LOL)
Just realized i haven’t updated here in aaages. They’re still in the works, just delayed. Hopefully the next update will be with the parts in hand to test and validate before delivering to those that have already purchased.
