Inmotion Ebike Vesc/Batt Upgrade

Hello all,

Sometimes I go with my scheve boots off het padje.
And then I can’t not ride a board, very dangerous to do so imo. This is where this bike comes in

I purchased this little bike some time ago for my gf, she crashed pretty hard with it and doesn’t want to use it anymore. The way this bike handles is pretty weird and dangerous as your feet are resting on your steering wheel basically.

Then It caught some dust I’m my workshop untill…
My friends started using it to go places with me, the range was not enough.

First mod I did was to just make the xt60 connection pop out. You don’t need to solder anything for this as the stock wiring is long enough. This way I could ratchet a eskate batt onto it. Only 10s supported though but the stock esc takes all 10s batts which pleasantly surprised me. (No bms-esc connection)

The bike was slow though, the torque sucked. Speed was also capped at 30 (limitation of voltage/motors)

So I pulled the dirty boxed up esc out and threw in a Vesc.
Pulled the “light controlling and honk” pcb out of the esc and connected it in parallel to an anti spark switch with the Vesc.

I connected the throttle to ADC1 and one of the brake sensors to ADC2, which turns the throttle in a regen brake when pressing the left brake slightly, very nice. Ble module was also added inside but this required making a custom JST plug as UART shares a connection with ADC2 (If I remember correct)

Now I can strap a 12s batt on it and make it a death trap.

Speed is around 38 and this is seriously enough, torque has improved significantly with 30 motor amps setup in the app.

One problem I have is when the bike is cold from being outside is that I can’t throttle too hard because it will cog, once motor is warmed up, 30 seconds later. It works fine, no cogging. Anybody can give me a heads-up on that?

Pretty good little bike now, can do around 70 km with a 12s5p.

If you can find this bike with a broken battery or broken esc, they are very easy to mod, almost no soldering required, and there is so so much space in the enclosure, it’s a walk in the park compared with an eskate… you can open the esc enclosure with one screw  it’s a pretty good design and a solid bike. Also has a electronic noise button to scare pedestrians
