For stuff, there’s also the push on pulley, 6355 motors, and making VESC widely available at reasonable prices. I got in a bit after, but I think at the time it was Enertion (sometimes bad batches) Ollin (expensive and long wait) and torqueboards (sorry dex, many bad batches? bad at 12s/foc?).
And generally Enertion and Jason really gave a huge push to electric skateboarding and diy on youtube, social media, and the web. Created lots of how-to content for diy’ers. Things appear to have backfired at the moment, but I really think his intent was to make the coolest shit he could, and spread the fever as far as he could (but also, while trying to dominate the industry).

I think Enertion got fu&ked because of their dependency on China. They over promised and under delivered again and again. Lots of money was poured into them delivering a well made product that just never happened.
Remember the first rides people took with the Raptor 2? Everyone loved the torque and speed. Made me want to get one…until things started falling apart after some miles were put in.
Almost all my parts of my 1st build was from Jason’s garage days.
