were you testing a vx1, or a vx1 pro?
interesting finding on the UART mode getting same result. it suggests not all uart receivers lack failsafe. which is what I had been hypothesizing. tx.

isnāt duty cycle mode on vesc known weird? like itās not like RC ESCs,
where backing off from 80% to 20% duty doesnāt brake, but coasts down, (in ppm app, in bldc app it may be different) but the vesc implementation does brake? another thing i vaguely remember being said but never tested. I supsect itās meant for a differnt use case. like⦠run lathe⦠type stuff.
I was testing a vx1, not pro. Yes i think vesc duty cycle is different from hobbywing etc. It brakes when you leave the throttle but because it doesnāt use the current controller, it has less latency on acceleration. It is dangerous for esk8 imo
Duty cycle mode isnāt weird, but it just has next to ZERO usefulness for electric skateboard drivetrains. It can work great for other purposes. If you built a fan with a speed control knob, it might be exactly what you need.
sounds weird.
potayto potahto.
thanks for confirming.
Can you share your experience? Did it go in to full throttle or it kept the last throttle position? Was it more than a second?
If I remember correctly it was full throttle for a few seconds, then it timed-out.
