Thanks for revealing this great business model. If I charge $50 for each call

Hey guys. I have an update. Unfortunately there’s a fault in the design files (v2.0.1) and the power board is not properly connected to main input voltage. Please refer to [v2.0.1] V_IN for the PSU is not properly connected on the power stage board · Issue #2 · JensOverby/FOC_KING · GitHub for more details.
@shambler00117 You mentioned you had it working on the test bench? Did you have no issues with this?
That‘s a mean one, could even work 50/50 as it is really close, half way minimum clearance for separate traces. Easy to repair if you know it.
i was using it with a push lock button so I have not had the issue i will check it on my board. If there is this error as well
but it checked it and it seams to be disconnected as well, but i will measure it today for sure.
@jens_overby still not using DRC in your work?..
This explains why I had problems when soldering this pad. Thought I was bad at soldering (which I am btw). Good work in double hyperspace. Appreciate your close attention.
So for those who already ordered. You have to scratch a little bit on the trace to expose the copper before soldering this pad.
And whether I use DRC? Yes I do (edit: sorry this is a lie), but because I’m not Superman, rather Lazyman, I also get quite a lot of warnings when doing that, because the “template” is not properly setup. I would most certainly welcome anyone who will contribute to fixing this issue. But thanks to linsus, just on the other side of Kattegat, for reminding me of the advantages of being more structured.
Dammit, again it’s the Swedes who beat the rest of us.
I will as quickly as possible publish a version fixing this issue.
final stretch in the design is usually boring but better then doing it twice ![]()
unrouted nets should be cought by the DRC without much setup
Just ran the DRC moments and additionally found an unconnected via. You’re right.
Nordstream3 is back online
New release now with DRC.
It looks like jlcpcb changed policy regarding bmi270. If you want the IMU it seems like you have to move economic to standard assembly. This will cost you a little more.
Is this considered an official release, ready for the masses?
its much more with standard its was all in $102.86 with standard it is $168.58 so thats a nearly 70% price hike ![]()
It’s an official release. What I fixed in this version:
I noticed (when checking the gerber on jlcpcb website) that “TX4130L” was not available. I guess you can “preorder” it or something like that.
I’m annoyed by the bmi270 thing. They have soldered the bmi160 for years, and it’s physically identical to bmi270, which they have also successfully assembled for quite some time now.
Additionally, I skipped all my work on the bmi323, because of jlcpcb “standard” assembly requirement for that part, and changed it to bmi270, because it could be assembled at jlcpcb “economy” level. grrrrrr. You never know what you can expect with this company… ![]()

I’m going to solder this one manually (hot air). I don’t know if there’s a way to easily solder this footprint with a soldering iron? Anyone?
Can I change something on the board to make manual soldering easy? Any input?
What about exposing copper on the traces going to the legs of the bmi270, would that make it possible to assemble the part using a soldering iron?
Legs under the bmi270 look like this:
(6 of them are unconnected)
its fairly easy to solder the bmi170 (bmi160) with hot air and low temp melt solder (and a looot of flux)
*bmi270
strange thing was i was able to get the bmi270 with economy. the must have changed that in the last view weeks.
In my last order I also got it at “economy”
i wouldnt do it cause with hot air its “sucked in place” but only if the pads are as they should be.
