eLofty Direct Drive Discussions-read before buying

@ryansinatra l also don’t know how the process would be like. Kinda hoping someone who already did it post some pictures and explain how to do it

As @BillGordon said probably just @Winfly went that far.
I have a 10S battery and just gonna run low amps as well.

I say don’t worry about it. It ran fine at 12S for me. Until I blew the Vesc by other unrelated accident.

I ordered these for my Elofty setup, they are now $120US with free shipping.
They are also available from Kenna, but dont expect free shipping.
My hope is to possibly modify them for 6" tubes

Be cool and be safe, and report back, I’ve heard unsubstantiated reports on this combo…

Australian Customs Seized my hubs because Kenna put the value as $30US they were like wtf - it would cost more to post them. I emailed them the paypal invoice. Not impressed by the quality of the 105’s. upgraded the dkp bushings to evolve greens 98A. Waiting on a new enclosure & cells from Europe.

I printed abec adapters so I can use 97mm abec clones for now.

How are the adapters working? What material did you use?

I used PLA+

It acts quite similar to ABS but prints much easier.

I have not used them yet since I’m still assembling this build. I’ll definitely be reporting back here tho

I’m using mine on 90mm or 97mm Flywheels and testing out a modified 3D printed ABEC adapter

I’m testing out and prototyping in ABS, when I’m super stoked I’m going to print them in Nylon.

Will these adaptors also fit the TB DDs (I have a set on the way)? I tried to read if the dimensions were the same but I couldn’t find any information to confirm this. I’ve got SR foamies that I wanted to throw on the set up along with some no-name abec clone 90mm.

@levan634 I doubt those will fit Tb dd as we included a stub on all our pulleys as our setups are built for higher top speeds.

Everyone should just get your drives anyway, eloftys break super quick I’ve seen it first-hand. They’re crap tbh

Damn bro. Just because you don’t own a set of them doesn’t mean that they’re crap. @Winfly took me And my evo out with a set of these dds

Whoever feels motivated to buy a set of e lofty id say get them.

Mine is still going strong and I am nearing 500km. I love mine and don’t even touch my TB belt drive based board because this one is just so light.

As far as I know only @Winfly’s axle broke. Who else are you talking about?
