Hey y’all, wanted to update this thread for posterity.
In 2022 I sold DBS to Jeff Johnson, the owner of Hoyt St and Metroboard. At the same time, I was hired on as the battery builder and electrical engineer for all three brands.
As of last Friday the 28th, I’m no longer employed by Hoyt/MB/DBS or involved with them in any official capacity. The future of DBS is up to its current owner. Please direct any and all DBS-related questions, requests, comments, etc., to info@duckbatterysystems.com or hoytskate@hoytskate.com
I want to thank everyone who ever supported DBS, whether financially, socially, or just with your enthusiasm. With the support and engagement of this awesome community it grew way beyond what I ever expected. DBS gave me a springboard to jump off into full timr battery engineering for two kick-ass esk8 brands, and I got to build hundreds of packs for awesome esk8s that will hopefully be tearing up asphalt for many years to come. I’m very proud of my work, and of the work that the rest of the Hoyt team put in over the years.
Love you all
Benjamin
P.S. I’m not going anywhere! I’m still hopelessly addicted to esk8. In fact, I’m hoping that no longer having esk8 as my day job will allow me to reconnect with my passion for building DIY. You’ll still see plenty of me around this community.
