Double UART on single VESC?

Hello, i have small board with single vesc and arduino firefly remote. The remote sends control signal over ppm and telemetry over UART, it has an option to disable UART and only use ppm. Is it possible to add an nrf51 module to the same UART for wifi configuration?

Another solution is you can add a metr pro CAN onto the CANBUS and configure it wirelessly that way without using a UART port.

Be careful, because the USB jacks are fragile and break off easily under vibration.
