How does that compare to if you put
A) 4 small motors or
B) both of those, mounted on opposite sides of the back truck
Though? Its still a clean looking board, and i imagine it ran quite well, if a little crooked.

Why would the thing run crooked, its a valid design choice. It allows for dual mounting big motors with narrow trucks very stealthy, as theres no big motor sticking out. Also 4 small motors would require double the amount on ESCs. Idk why its posted here honestly, unless there is a backstory to it idk about.

I guess it was more of a “why did i build this” moment. Compared to everything else I did, it was pretty strange. Nobody builds dual diagonals anymore.

I’m not saying the thing would always be turing right or anything like that, just that this config would tend to try to pull the trucks in a direction not where you’re intending to point them. Maybe describing them as crooked because of that is wrong—idk.

Well the back truck would be pulling slightly to the left and the front truck slightly to the right, which would, given they are running symmetrical in amperage, cancel each other out.

Theres a lot more factors in actual riding that make me think it couldnt run perfectly straight on its own. I dont think would be serious. or unrideable, just a tad crooked. Under load it would probably be even less of a problem. Maybe a bit prone to bump steering on each motored wheel? I cant be sure without riding a similaf setup.

What factors would the be?

Uneven ground, for a start. Even ever so slightly misalligned or bent trucks. Furthermore, id assume those two wheels would wear unevenly, leaving you with a different contact patch on each side of each truck. More so, because theyre cloud wheels. I understand that both motors are technically pushing the same force in the same direction. But id be more comfortable with the two motors on the same truck. And with most motor mounts, you could still accomplish that by mounting one on each side of said truck. Again, most of this would probably be pretty negligible under load.

I’d argue that these are even better for uneven ground, since you have a better chance to get one wheel on good terrain due the greater distance between them. Uneven wear could be an issue though, but thats a problem thats easly solvable with some maintenance.

Some big pro on this build is the weight distribution, making it nicer to carry around.

I toss my board over my shoulder by the front truck xD that one would be more comfortable to mall grab though. Still a very nice board, im not at all hatin on it, id just like to see how it actually runs, especially after some regular wear and tear.

For narrow trucks it should be alright, after all single drives worked okay too without much torque steer
