Dead pgroup? is my board going to explode?

Forgive me if i’m wrong here but there seems to be a lot of brouhaha in here and not a lot of clarity.

Going off the percentage in vesc tool is futile. Scroll one page up and there will be a value for the actual voltage. IME vesc will usually read battery voltage pretty well +/- 0.3v.

Because the vesc is connected directly to the battery, you could reasonably assume that the voltage shown is correct.

Before you go planning anything, you really need to know the actual voltage of the battery. Short of opening the board, vesc tool is your best bet there.

But in any case, the board will need to be opened and getting some photos and values with a multimeter would be the next step!!

Everybody seems to be getting a little excited in here. Just take it one step at a time

didn’t fully read all above but just my two cents;

Don’t charge cells that are below 2.5V(given you know this is the case) thats when it starts getting dangerous.

Just discharging a pgroup to 0V does not cause any thermal events.

Following the discussion here. Any updates @GnomeMeansNo?

Nah got kinda frustrated. Batteries never seem to last more than a couple years for me before they detonate. I put this aside and I will get back to it when it stops raining in May (Vancouver lyfe).
