Oh also if anyone wants a pair of MR60 connectors with their motors or 5.5mm bullets free of charge PM me and I’ll add them in.
We went for the expidited shipping, and hopefully we’re shipping out today. It would have been the 15th, but during the epoxying process, the motors anodization wore off so its been re-done.
Here are some pictures sent over
They’ve changed over to a flat bottomed design, which is great for putting them side by side where dual 74mm is close (I think TB218 it can be close if the shaft comes out the back like SK3)
Here’s an image of the epoxying process they’re using.
And the best parts, the balancing & epoxying. As you can see in the second image, this might be the most epoxy we’ve ever seen from the factory, the bottom 3/4s of the magnets are almost entirely covered. One of the main issues with DIY battle hardening is balancing can’t really be done, but as this is coming from the factory its also balanced. The cuvature of the magnets has been discussed above, but it will mean the motors are extremely quiet in FOC.
The ones I have are 170kv. Its going to be cheaper to order from me than from flipsky after shipping, unless you get a lot from flipsky shipping is like flat rate $30
It’s a matter of preference, just need to match what’s soldered on the vesc phase wires. The defaults of the motors look different, so we would need to solder something anyway -but if the vesc happens to already have 5.5mm bullets you could ask for these (if you don’t have any) and avoid soldering on the vesc side.
It depends on what your ESC has, I don’t think any VESC based esc ships with 4mm bullets though so you’ll need something, you can either resolder everything or resolder the motor or esc connector to match each other.
well, i ordered the jedboxes, so basically have no idea what esc ill be using now that ship has sunk. but if ill need them please add them to my order (ill dm you)…thanks
