Hi, I’m very interested in building one of these, I built the cheap FOCer V1 a while back and it worked fine although I never tried it out properly I only bench tested it, I wouldn’t be much use in regards to helping with anything on the PCB side of things I don’t think unless it was soldering but if you wanted a case designing for it I would be happy to help with that side of things
hi @shaman , just being curious why did you choose to go with drv8xx-less design and go with just independent gate driver. I saw that drv835x support for 100v.
btw im also excited waiting for focer3 shown in your github repo
As near as I can tell, 90% of the VESC failures are the DRV IC. I don’t know if Shaman did this in response to my requests, but I’ve certainly suggested a driverless design.
is there any update on this project ?
Hi @shaman,
Your designs are truly impressive. I was planning to build the Cheap FOCer 2, but I noticed that some of the components are now obsolete. Because of this, I’d love to use your new design instead.
Would you consider sharing the source files “as is”? I completely understand if they’re not fully polished or ready for release, but having access to them would be incredibly helpful. I’d also be more than happy to assist with getting everything organized in a repo or even helping with firmware related tasks.
Let me know how I can help!
Hi, I dont mean to say “do more free work for free”. I just want to know, approximately, how much more time is it going to take? Should i wait for it or go for another controller?
Any updates to this project yet?
I don’t think open sourcing these older revision is gonna happen.
